Anyone know Ray retired? If he a possibility to comeback. I know hes a butcher in the field but he gets on base & could leadoff.

Melvin said the other day he had spoken with Ray's agent, who told him it would probably take him a while to get ready. Made it sound like he wasn't a realistic option.

I'd rather have Counsell, or McGehee, or Billy Hall play second than Durham.

I would prefer a Counsell/Hall/McGehee platoon at 2B over bringing Durham in. We already have a bach-up infielder who shouldn't play more than a couple times a week in Counsell.

At this point I'm really thinking that Melvin is going to have to address 2B with a trade -- and soon. I just can't see DM being comfortable with Counsell & McGehee there for the rest of this season. There are guys out there that wouldn't cost a king's ransom & would very much improve 2B. I won't start a list, since this isn't the Transactions forum.

 

With Hardy's health seeming in question right now, I just don't see how another solid MIF wouldn't help. We have Iribarren in AAA, but I'd prefer to see him as injury insurance than a viable starting option (not meant as a knock on the Hurricane).

I'm wondering the same thing, could be a nice rental as he is in the last year of a deal I believe. And we will have Rickie back next year anyway. It's possible?
