FanGraphs has a doozy, that's for sure:

Let's cash in against Aquino, guys. How about one more big hit for Hardy tonight? Hell, I'll take him just getting on base now that the bases are loaded.

Am I missing a "hope springs eternal" joke? I feel out of the loop.

Also, I hope this isn't a cheese sandwich game because I need to be up at 6 to get to my internship tomorrow morning. C'mon, Mike.

I really don't understand why Macha's gone from "we need to protect Trevor" to the Yostian "save situation = Trevor" mentality. He's been used something like 4 times in 5 days now, and hasn't looked good in a few days.
Why the need to call it Yostian. It is an MLB manager thing. Save situation=closer. That's how managers manage. I am still surprised by how many people thought a closer would be used differently because we changed managers.
Well said. My point exactly.

Stop it with the cheese sandwhich. I have to get my blood drawn for a cholesterol test in the morning and you guys aren't making it any easier.

I just remember hearing Uecker go on and on during a spring training game a number of years ago about "hope springs attorney." I don't know if he originally said it, or if someone said it to him not knowing the actual cliche. It was about 3 innings of Jim Powell cracking up every time Uecker said it. Someone please correct me if I don't have this correct, but that's how I remember hearing it.

Greg Aquino may be my favorite player in the majors right now.

Edit: Is "It's Not My Time" something the Cleveland folks want to be hearing over the PA system right now? Not a great pick for a mound visit song at this point. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Double Edit: The "Yostian" comment was made more out of frustation of Macha going to a 40-year old closer for the 4th time in 5 days when he hasn't looked very sharp lately. Probably a bit harsh since that phrase should only be used in gaffes of epic proportions, but I still think Macha should've taken the opportunity to give Trevor and extra day of rest considering his old rule of getting two days off if you've pitched three days in a row.

I hope I'm wrong, but I fear that the Indians are feeling good because we did about the minimum amount of damage as they reasonably could have hoped, and now will take advantage.

That's at least as inappropriate as the Brewers playing "Free Falling" after losses last year.

I thought Uecker's play on words during a spring training a few years back was "spring hopes attorney." I don't feel motivated to check right now, though.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I do like this pitching switch. Stetter against righties is less of a gamble than DiFelice against lefties.

Speaking of DiFelice, interesting stuff on him over at FanGraphs today: The Ultimate ROOGY.

Win expectancy dropped from 78% to 66% on Stetter's error. I can't take much more of this!

Can't say this series hasn't been exciting to watch, though.

I will take it, but why can't this team win some easy ones? It should have ended in the 9th with Stetter, but I think Macha will be rethinking his usage of Hoffman on little rest.

Unbelievable job by Stetter! I did not feel a win late in this one, but they pulled it out. Wow. Now rest the bullpen, get Braun and McGehee healthy, and carry this momentum into Detroit.

Knock on wood but Stetter has been so good he really hasn't made me miss Shouse at all. He seems to really have embraced the lefty specialist role and even expanded it to be able to get out capable righty bats in a pinch.

BREWERS WIN! Stetter's last 11 outs have all been via a strikeout..pretty impressive considering he doesn't throw all that hard.

Brains and Braun, I definitely felt like Rickie after that error. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif FanGraphs ended up looking pretty whacky...
