I don't understand putting the #8 hitter on base there. Tolbert is batting a robust .165. Throw the ball over the plate and see what happens...

Yeah, I don't see the value of that either all it did is guarantee a bunting situation for the pitcher and made it very likely that the lead off hitter would get an AB.

Good points. Not only that, but it also makes it that much quicker that Mauer and Morneau get up.

At this point, I'll take the minimum requirements for a quality start. Now let's wake the bats up and steal this one.

So what's with all the first-pitch swinging tonight? I get that Blackburn is throwing mostly first-pitch strikes, but all these first-pitch outs are resulting in a ridiculously low pitch count for all the hits he has given up. He's only thrown 63 pitches through 5 compared to Looper's 87. Looks like we won't be seeing the Twins bullpen until Nathan.
Well, if the Brewers are getting a lot of hits off the starter, they probably don't want him to leave the game.

I have no problem with swinging at the first pitch if it's a good pitch to hit.

Glad I am the only one that has a Stetter jersey hanging right above my bed right now. A new franchise record for Stetter! What is the record for most consecutive strikeouts in a row?

Cam with another leadoff double. Too bad Hardy and Kendall hit behind him.
Hardy ripped the ball both times he came up after Cameron's leadoff doubles. Unfortunately, one was right to the third baseman and one was to the warning track in dead center.

let's give stetter a shot at the rotation. i'm only half serious.

He was a starter when he first started in the minors http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I can't believe Blackburn is as good as his numbers say he is. He throws way to many hittable pitches. It feels like the Brewers should be up 5-3 right now.

Other than the vacation from reality in Cleveland, the Brewers have scored 5 runs only 4 times in June, and lost three of those games.

To be fair, if I was at the park watching this one, during this particular stretch, I'd be a loud drunk, too.

C'mon Brewers! Let's get something going with these last four outs! The Cubs and Cards have lost, the bullpen's done their job, let's get it going.

At the game now. What is the number you text to snitch on the loud drunks?
From the Brewers' website:

Fans can report problems by texting the number 41513 with the word "BREWERS" -- that part is key -- followed by a space and then their seat or ballpark location and a description of the problem. Should further information be required, stadium personnel will respond via a text message or call.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
