In the first game of the girls WIAA Div. I tourney, Racine Case is giving three-time defending champ Vincent all they can handle. Game going down to the wire. Very entertaining!

pretendastronaut's alma mater (Black Hawk) is playing for a D-4 ball on Saturday. I'm off to the Kohl Center shortly, for what I hope is a fun day of girls' hoops.

Tough loss for Coach Keen and the Cheese. Thought the run in the 4th quarter was going to be enough to pull them through.

 

It was strange not being in attendance...think the first one I've missed in 16 years.

I've never been much of a girl's basketball fan, but this Pius-Vincent game is pretty exciting.

Tip of the cap to Pius XI...but Lady Popes? It's surprising enough that the Catholic Church doesn't mind a team being called the Popes (instead of insisting that there's only one pope and he is not in Milwaukee), but you'd think "Lady Popes" as a nickname would be right out.

 

Oh, bensheeps, I think the whole of the Monroe faithful thought they were there once they finally got up by 3. However, no one can say they lacked chances.
