How many years will Soriano get

I'm not asking this for the Brewers sake but there's a bunch of idiotic Cubs fans on another board that think they can get Soriano for 3 years $45 million plus an option for a 4th year at $18 million.

 

So basically if they pick up his option he's getting 4 years $63 million. Do you think he'll get more years and money per year?

Since Soriano turned down 5 years $70mil there is no way he will accept 3 years $45 mil. He wants more than $15mil a year. I think he will get a 5 year deal.

He'll only sign for 3 years if the yearly rate offered is simply too high to turn down.

Even then, if he's able to sign for 5 years -70 mil I think he'd do that over 3 years at almsot anythign comparable ((yearly wise)) or more, simply because it's guaranteed for 5 years and he doesn't have to worry if ater 3 he's useless.

i think he will get 5 years, 90 million. Every year on this board contracts are undervauled and players get much more than what posters here expect. I think 18 million per is about right (not quite arod, manny money, but close)

I can't imagine anyone would pay him that type of money. He's past his prime, and he's not nearly as good as Beltran or Guerrero. I know there are some free spenders out there, but $90 million seems crazy.

Link here (indirect because Washington Post is reg. req.) says Soriano is asking for something like the 7 / $119M that Beltran got (that's $17M/year average). Yeah, you have to let some air out of that balloon after negotiations, but I think it's fair to say that he'd laugh at 3/$45M. That or just walk out shaking his head.
