Is Hoffman or another relief pitcher being dealt?

Why in the world would Hoffman want to finish his career as a washed up pitcher on a bad Brewers team when he could potentially get traded to a contender and end his career on a high note.

we've got three rookies in the pen pitching out of their minds this season. if "nothing" was the return we would have gotten from Hoffman (and it probably was), then i'm glad we kept him to stick around as player/coach.

I can't recall where I read it but it was along the same lines that with all the rookie pitchers on the team Hoffman was serving as a great mentor for them. His experience is invaluable and much more valuable than some A ball guy with medium upside. Besides with the way the deals went this year we would have likely had to pay all or most of his salary anyways if we could have convinced him to waive his no trade clause.
