Washburn looking for a deal with the Crew?

I'd rather eat a can of Alpo cold than basically slot Washburn as the #4.

 

I have nothing to add other than say this was hilarious. Basically sums up how I feel about Washburn as well.

Hopefully Cappy is Plan A in this scenario. It's hard not to root for a guy who wants to pitch, as evidenced by how he worked his tail off to come back, and was pretty close to lights out last year in the minors and with the Brewers once Macha finally gave him a chance. Washburn on the other hand is older, with iffy stuff to begin with- not to mention extremely rusty. I also question his motivation to play if $5 million was not enough for him to join a team about an hour and a half from his hometown last season.

As long as we don't give Wolf's contract to Pavano, I have no problem passing on Washburn. If we decide to throw Wolf money and years to Pavano though, I'll have a major problem with Melvin's line of thinking.

I think we need to stop when we find ourselves saying things like "at this point he's only a 4-5 pitcher".

 

This team needs to find a #2 that can push everyone back a spot in the rotation. Unless this happens, the pitching will not get better.

At this point a #3 would improve the rotation, and that's pretty much what's going to be available on the FA market.

Please Just might as well keep what if you have if you going after a Pitcher who didn't even pitch last year.Rather See them Through Rogers in the Rotation and let him get his lumps.

On a Minor League deal I am fine with bringing in Washburn. What can he expect when he didn't pitch at all in 2010.
