There goes Gomez again with his first pitch outs.
Are those worse than 5,6, or 7 pitch outs like Rickie's?

Yes, because one pitch outs keep the pitcher's pitch count low (say that five times fast).

That said, I don't mind if someone swings at a first pitch if it's a good one at which to swing. I mean, why let a meaty fastball down the middle go by and put yourself in %%$+@*? I don't remember what kind of pitch Gomez swung at, though.

I am not worried about getting Casey Coleman out of the game so pitch count is not a concern right now.

Seriously we have Almonte Morgan & Mcgehee sitting on the bench and we use reed? The chances of us using all 4 are slim so why would you use your worst?

I hope when Lucroy comes back Reed gets sent down

It should be one of the catchers to go when Lucroy returns...

Why when Kottaras' bat is better than Reeds and you can keep Nieves for the defense. Both bring more value than Reed

Why? At least the catchers have a purpose if Roenike will PH for them late. Reed is behind Kotsay, Morgan and Almonte.

Mitre wasn't DS'd in? This is the easy part of managing.

Yea, this is hard to figure, instead of using your long reliever for a couple innings Roenicke is burning through his Bullpen in a tie game.
