2011-07-06 Diamondbacks at Brewers - [Brewers win, 3-1, thanks to McGehee, Gallardo]

It's either MLB's announcers or audio only from what I can tell.

Omar just asked the play-by-play guy who the NL's captain for the HR derby is. The play-by-play guy had to tell him who was selected by Fielder.

Earlier, they were discussing the Brewers' rotation. Minaya mentioned Gallardo, Greinke...Oh, Randy Wolf too...(looks at paper)...Chris Narveson, and Shaun Marcum.

If you switch to NexDef, you should be able to get the WTMJ overlay.

Minaya has been absolutely excruciating to listen to.

I hate games like this. One bad pitch from Yo, and the Brewers hit the ball all over the field, but directly at defenders every time.

Normally, I'd predict that they break through against Collmenter because he's not fooling anybody, but not with the way things have gone lately.

The Brewers haven't really hit anything hard today, just a few line drives. A few weaker liners/bloopers were caught and lots of lazy fly balls to the outfield. Collmenter is pitching well though and deserves credit.

Very nice combined play by Kotsay and Gamel. Kotsay with an off-balance throw to Gamel, who was actually on the infield side of the 3B line. Gamel dove back to his left to make the tag.

What is it about rookie pitchers pitching for the first time against the Brewers? This team is so frustrating.

It's not as if Collmenter is getting pounded by everyone but the Brewers. He's had a rough stretch lately, but he's had a great season so far.

bat Kotsay 5th, then let him hit and pull Gamel.....Those of us waiting/hoping for a Kotsay DFA are going to be disappointed. For Roenicke/Melvin deciding to cut Kotsay would be like a normal human being deciding to cut Weeks.

Why force the other manager to pull a pitcher when he has given up back to back singles? Should have left Mat in there.

I think RRR just got out-managed by Gibson. Must have thought that Gibson was going to stick with his "7th inning guy".

Making a move for the sake of making a move is never the right decision.

Don't worry, though, we're about 2ABs away from "the fans" collectively saying Gamel sucks.

Wasn't McGehee supposed to get a few games off to clear his head and regroup? Since I heard that I am pretty sure he has started a game, been brought in to make the last out of a game, and now been brought in here in another pressure situation. For a guy who is clearly struggling, I am not sure this is going to help clear his head. Though I hope I am wrong.
