It's hard to blame Gamel for that. He hasn't played third in a year and now the Brewers are throwing him into the fire. He spent all his time concentrating on third, gets called up to DH and then they say oh, now go play third.

Gamel has also hinted as heavily as one in his position can that Green can play 3B and he can't

I am going to try to be positive here, it could have been much worse.

Those two runs are on Gamel, not on Greinke. The defense hasn't exactly helped Greinke all that much this year.

No its on Melvin for forcing him to play a position that he hasn't played in forever. And its on Grienke for backing himself in to a corner. He hit a batter and walked another.

Our defense is not good, but that ball to Gamel was a rocket. Range and misplaying balls have not been the issue

If I was an opposing team I would seriously consider constantly bunting to the 3B side with Gamel and Yuni there until Gamel is forced to come way in

Greinke with 7Ks already through 3 innings. He certainly knows how to finish off hitters. Now if only he would have luck go a bit more his way along with some better defense.

Jeff Cirillo. And are you serious? He's about a million times better than Rock. He is the one who is terrible. Cirillo offers good insight, and doesn't sugar coat and make excuses for everything.

The play was right at Gamel and the ball ate him up. McGehee would have made it. The point is Gamel is completely uncomfortable at 3B

I'm not sure if McGehee would have made it. It was a tough play.

 

Gamel sucks at 3rd and he is not a 3rd baseman. He hasn't worked on playing 3rd. I think that would have quite a bit to do with him not getting to a hard hit ball in the hole.

I agree that I like Bill better than Cirillo as well. Bill is a bit more of a polished speaker, even if I do find myself disagreeing with him.

Cirillo just doesn't have a very good announcing voice. I agree that he provides good insight (and do prefer him to Schroeder)...but he just doesn't have a strong voice. Doesn't feel like he should be announcing games.

I guess I'm pretty pessimistic with almost all announcers, and I agree, Bill doesn't offer much for analysis unless its about making excuses for horrible plays and decisions.
