Ryan Dempster

Dempster failed to rebound from a 2-0 first-inning deficit in his last start, lasting just three innings against the Phillies. He gave up six runs on seven hits and three walks in the abbreviated start, throwing 86 pitches.

Chris Narveson

6-6, 4.45

Narveson watched his two-run lead slip away in Arizona after an early call to the bullpen, but he has a good matchup on deck, as he's 5-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 11 appearances (four starts) against the Cubs.

Feeling good about the Brewers now. They are back at Miller Park, the lineup is back to normal, and the lowly Cubs are in town. Time to get a winning streak going!

Yeah, the lowly Cubs...of course, they took 3 of 4 from us about a month ago in Chicago. It's also Dempster, who has flat out owned the Brewers in his career. I like that we're at home, but we always struggle with the Cubs and especially with Dempster. Hopefully we can reverse both of those trends.

We finally get through the tough part of our schedule and get to feast on the dregs of the division...only to match up with Cy McFlappyglove in our first game at home. With our luck the Astros will trade for Josh Collmenter and we'll get no hit this weekend. We need someone we can handle like Halladay, Carpenter or Cain. (/half blue)

Dempster on the mound, Betancourt protecting McGehee in the order and a sizeable Cubs contingent at the ballpark. What could possibly go wrong?

I hadn't noticed before, but the Cubs lineup is actually pretty deep:

(wRC+)

1) Baker (91) < 1) Hart (123)

2) Castro (102) < 2) Plush (131)

3) Ramirez (129) < 3) Braun (176)

4) Soto (101) < 4) Fielder (157)

5) Byrd (118) < 5) Weeks (131)

6) Pena (108) >> 6) McGehee (59)

7) Soriano (95) > 7) Betancourt (70)

8) Barney (88) < 8) LuCroy (98)

9) Dempster (-58) < 9) Narveson (21)

That's actually not a bad lineup. Fortunately for the Brewers, they can't pitch. Or field.

Why is it we also get suck having to face Demptser, he owns us. I bet there are not that many scrubs fans there they have given up on the season.

The game is also on WGN tonight, so us chumps who left Wisconsin can enjoy the lovely announcing of Len and Bob. Well, either that or put on MLB radio.

Does anyone else get nervous when we play the scrubs?
A few years ago I didn't even enjoy watching games against the Scrubs because it was so gut-wrenching. At this point though they're so bad I just don't feel the rivalry like I used to. Of course it's still fun to hammer the sCrUBS though!

Horrible pitch, settle in Chris.
