This is what I am wondering. Since Jim took the job as the #2 guy at Scranton, does that mean Michael will still be the #1 guy? And does that make Jim, Dwight?s boss? How great is that going to be?!?

I'm pretty sure Jan came back and asked Jim to be #2 at Scranton under Michael. I'm pretty excited to see what Dwight's reaction to that will be -- too funny.

The show keeps getting better! I want to try the fax prank with a guy at work. Kelly's smeared make-up was outstanding and it clearly shows her mental problems.

Jim is back tonight....and I can't wait for Michael to start hitting on the new hot chick

In the promo Michael says to her: "You are very exotic looking. Was your father a GI?" Classic...

The music video cracked me up. The tasteless product placement / shilling turned my stomach. Swings and roundabouts, I guess....

"I was flicking through the channels on the TV, on a Sunday in Milwaukee in the rain,
Trying to piece together conversations ... Trying to find out where to lay the blame"

That was quite possibly my favorite episode ever.

(Michael to the new black guy that is joining the branch)

"Here, come with me. I'll show you where the slaves work. Errr...no......"

The G.I. line was also classic.

Everything in the episode was perfectly "The Office"-esque.

Very hilarious, but I always liked how the love story was always integrated into the humor and were never the focus of the show. Now it seems like the show is either having a hilarious moment or a jim-pam moment.

Can't complain though. 'what does it get, 4 miles to the gallon?' 'try double that.' that whole exchange at the end was priceless.

Still liked it a lot but was the only one that thought Michael was a little TOO over the top? I mean, I thought he was just a wierd guy that sometimes did crazy stuff. Seemed like he never stopped being unbelievable this episode.

I thought Michael had his "sweet" moments they tend to throw in at a couple of points in the episode. The only part I really hated was the stupid Staples paper shredder endorsement they had in the episode.

"I know everything about film...I've seen 240 of them."

Priceless Dwight.

I do agree that the Pam/ Jim stuff might begin to be a distraction to the show.

Otherwise I still think it was brilliant...the music video cracked me up.

Dwight in the blaze orange hat raping about the compact car spaces...Wow.

if you watched "30 Rock" after the office, you would have noticed that the entire episode was about "product integration"

I think the stables bit was a little bit of fun from NBC to stay in theme last night...

"What is that?"

"It's my left breast."

"How did you get a picture of that?"

"Right time, right place."

The lecherous Creed is turning into a terrific character.

Agreed. The best thing about the character, though, is that they use him so very sparingly. When they do sneak in a line or two, it's usually good.

(I can't help but point out that, by comparison, the Andy / Dwight thing is going to get unbearable if they keep making him into Dwight2.0.)

Did anyone else feel as though the plot and setup of this episode was really similar to one of the British episodes?

Posted

Yup. In the original it was the Swindon branch, and Tim wound up getting invovled with the hot for being English chick that was new to the office.

I really don't complain when they bring in stuff from the Brit show. The BBC only ran 12 episodes and NBC has run close to 3 times that. The show is still funny, so kudos to the writers.

You did notice the Staples commercial right after the product placement, didn't you?

Posted

I really cracked up at the scene where Kelly hugs Jim then proceeds to tell him about the celebrity gossip, then Jim asked, "so what's new with you?" "I just told you."

I started watching about half way through season 2, and this has quickly become my favorite non-animated tv show ever. Now I have to see the British version.

...and it wasn't just any Staples commercial, it was an entire commercial dedicated to the shredder that was just shown and talked about on the show 45 seconds earlier. Totally shameless shilling ... just in time for the holidays.

...and in Season 2 there were OfficeMax file folders on the shelves.

great episode last night so it deserves a bump.

I liked prison mike and of course Andy attempting to hit on Pam was hilarious. I also loved Creed using paper clips to play with the baby.

You can't give babies paperclips -- they will swallow them

Creed: That's OK -- I have plenty.

I suspect that the nursing lady will be the next to quit.

I also liked Kevin's quote regarding what Martin got arrested for, and how he

"made him repeat it 3 times, as it sounds like what he does every single day."
