I heard that Dwight is going to take a job at a rival paper company in town. I would guess that Michael finds a way to bring him back, probably at Andy's expense. Remember, Ed Helms is listed as a guest star and not a regular cast member. Same thing with Jim's new girlfriend, but thats another story.

Yeah, we actually saw how Michael put himself in position to be the manager at Scranton in the first place. I also agree that you can tell Michael doesn't care much for Andy, so Dwight won't be gone long at all.

This show has not jumped the shark yet, but they better be careful.

I think that's probably just because they're new this year, and the writers don't really know beforehand who's going to stick around and who isn't.

That could be true, it just seems like in the past when they have introduced characters they have not been guest stars. Of course, they haven't been characters central to the show...I am thinking more along the lines of Bob Vance, or Michael's original girlfriend.

Stanley and Phyliss are in accounting. They even had a web series about missing money. I think it was just a challenge from Michael. Best scene to me was either Stanley laughing or Dwight hugging Jim at the end. Just a great show.

If you've been watching the show since the first season, Stanley shows his sales side all the time. Phyllis was a bit of a surprise for me ... never really knew what she did.

 

Michael has showed flashes of sales brilliance since the very beginning, too. (Chili's episode in season 1 with Tim Meadows.)

i thought the sales calls were great...stuff like that really seperates this show from others...i was expecting tommy boy, but the salespeople were really good and competant..

Funniest part in the episode was easily when Dwight is sitting in the car and asks jim for the keys and Jim goes "you still do that?" and then Dwight turns on some metal and plays air guitar and punches the air to get pumped while Jim just leans against the car.

 

I also liked the stuff Jim did to Dwight like hitting him after Dwight said he could block the blow and when Dwight was sitting in the back of the car which is the safest and Jim jerks to a stop so he hits the seat.

Not to hijack the thread (much), but for fans of The Office, the new Ricky Gervais comedy series Extras started Season 2 tonight on HBO.

 

If you haven't checked it out yet, do yourself a favor and watch the first season on On Demand. Go on....you'll thank me!

 

Patrick Stewart dsecribing his script for a movie where he uses psychic powers to make girls' clothes fall off is just priceless.

Orlando Bloom was great. Nice way to start a season just like Kate Winslet last year. Though the episode was not the best. I trust it will get better!!

Dwight working at Staples was hillarious. I used to work in one of the big office supply places and Dwight standing there right next to the lady was awsome!

Andy reminds me of a guy who used to work in our office so much it makes my stomach queasy

You actually knew somebody like Andy? The episode was pretty average, but the part where Dwight said he didn't need the blindfold to hit the pinata was great.

Yeah -- I had a co-worker, almost exactly like Andy -- Very high-strung -- a total suck-up, and incredibly underhanded.

 

Our owner at the time was a very religious person -- this guy went to the owner, "concerned about the religious makeup" of the company, and played on the owner's religious insecurities. He tried to convince the owner that some of the people ahead of him on the food chain were "the wrong religion", and actually went out into a guy's car and took a small novelty Buddah statue out as "evidence". I also remember we would have Xmas parties, and he would make comments out loud, about the gifts some people gave, -- i.e., if there was a Disney DVD, -- he'd say "you have to wonder about the values of the people on both ends of that gift".

 

As GM (in my younger less ethical days) I used to get the mail to the company that wasn't specifically addressed to a dept. -- Back in about 1998 -- some guy used to send us letters with all sorts of numerology predicting the end of the world in 2000. Anyway whenever I got these letters, I would readdress and remail them to our "Andy" after I added "Andy's" personal information to the letter, Phone#, last paycheck number, licence plate #, etc. -- He would go absolutely mental, but it was funny.

 

The resemblances are creepy as well, -- I get queasy watching Andy on The Office.

The best part of that episode was when the cell phone landed above Stanley and he just looks up and stares.

 

....and when Ryan said "Oh no, but why don't you ask me again ten years ago." My roommate and I were DYING!
