I was trying to look back to see if the team was inspired by an old Miami baseball logo, and the best I can find is this Miami Amigo's cap on the left. Same shape of the M:

That's going to be an absolute debacle. Outside of the sign, the ballpark does look pretty cool in that picture.

I actually like it. It's pure kitsch for sure, but no more so than a sausage or pierogi.

 

The Miami art scene has some pretty vivid stuff. . .Romero Britto, David Lebatard, Depena, RJ Hohimer. . .

 

And while this thing throws it all into a blender, I'm fine with it being an iconic thing for the Marlins.

I managed to go a whole month (plus a handful of hours) without noticing this post. Were I a Marlins fan, I'd be (1) rooting for small ball, and (2) wearing shades to every game the Marlins play in the orange uniforms. Including night games.
