Tom Haudricourt just tweeted that the record was set by the 1996 Rockies. 39 blown saves. Ouch.

Edit: Now he changed it to 31

Edit: Now he says its 34 by the 2004 Rockies.

WOOT! I am back from Yuku hell and get to post after ANOTHER demoralizing display by the Blowpen. Sigh - this season is kind of paralleling 2009. Except the way they are losing games is getting very hard to take. I didn't even turn the game on last night. And today I got home in the 6th inning and kind of peeked at the TV. I turned around to peek in the 9th just as the Rockies were charging home plate to celebrate. Someone make it stop!

Now Haudricourt says 34. The Brewers have 43 games left. In order to break that record they'd have to blow a save in 28% of their remaining games. Based on recent trends a pace of 3 out of 10 games with a blown save is doable.

I suppose one could root for as many blown saves this year as possible, thus allowing a greater regression to mean for 2013?

It's just getting impressive at this point that the rest of the team tries at all anymore. I would be randy mossing the rest of the season away personally.
