It's an okay move, give Roenicke a little more flexibility with pinch hitting Lucroy or Maldonado and hopefully that is it.

barring another move, the 40-man roster is full. he can only help the brewers reach the wild card playoff game and will not be eligible for postseason play.

 

presumably, this move gives the brewers flexibility to use lucroy or maldonado more often as pinch hitters, or to use maldonado at first base.

I imagine this is a simple move to give us more flexibility in the last two weeks of the season. Having Torrealba simply allows the team to use Luc or Maldonado as a PH more readily.

i knew after i posted this that the brewers had a catcher that they traded to the jays for cash after the marcum/lawrie trade . . . paul phillips, earlier this year.
