2007 Vent Thread, Part 7

I know political arguments aren't allowed.

This is true. Now I'm not going to delete posts or go around doling out strikes, but I expect the topic to be absent from the rest of the thread.

First, I don't see how my post was political. Sorry if it could be interpreted as such.

Second, I dont think Yost mishandels his pitchers, I know he does.

1.5 back. Brewers better get out of this funk they are in right now. 3-4 in a 7 game span vs. Cincy and Pitt is unacceptable in a pennant chase.

If we are any more than .5 back heading into the road trip we are in deep, deep trouble.

why no Shouse in that 8th inning anyways? Why Mitch? I didn't get that one. At first, I thought maybe Shouse still wasn't back but then there he was later on warming up in the pen and, obviously, into the game. That one run ended up being humongous.

why not harted, or grossed, that ball should have been caught, why no blame for sheets, it is ridiculous to blame a pitcher that gave up one run, after his team was already down by two.

i don't blame stetter, i blame yost for putting him in. Especially when our best guy all year in shouse is waiting to come in

come on jason, you can't blame yost for putting in a guy that has pitched well who gives up a run, when his team is down. Shouse just got back to the team. You aren't going to blame Ned for starting Sheets? He put the Brewers in a big whole to begin with.

I want Yost to be fired, I didn't at the begining of the year, but let's be fair.

I fear 10-6 will probably not get it done. I used to think that if the Brewers got to +5 and stayed there they'd be in good shape. But the Cubs are winning games that the Brewers are losing, even with Dempster blowing up. The Cubs have peaked at +5 a number of times in the last few weeks. Despite a few opportunities to get there, the last time the Brewers were 5 games over .500 was one month ago, and they only saw +5 in the rearview, as they passed that mark heading the wrong way in the middle of a losing streak.

At this point I think the Brewers have to win every series.

He has pitched well, right. However he hasn't earned it or played enough in the MLB for me to trust him right now. I will trust my guy that has been here all year and has pitched very very well. Shouse did just get back, he was well rested and was avail to pitch since well, he pitched tonight. I'm not blaming Yost for this loss. Sheets pitched like crap, the hitters didn't hit. My thing is, you pitch shouse there to keep the score where its at, giving your team a chance to win. coming back from 2 is going to be hard enough, 3 is almost impossible. Now I'm not going to say, see, rivera hit a 2 run shot and the game would be tied. thats big time hindsight. Nobody knew that was going to happen. But a rally could have happened. Shouse is the best option there, not a guy who has only been up for a month or so

I am just sick of treading water and not getting on any kind of real run. We are stuck in mediocrity for way too long. There is too much talent o n this team to be only two stinkin' games above .500 in a bad division.

Umm, given the competitive track record of most of the vets on this team, maybe we don't want to count on the vets to step up.

Though Damian Miller sure tried on Wednesday.

Geoff Jenkins is choking down the stretch. Bill Hall hasn't really gotten hot all season. Johnny Estrada is slow, can't throw out anyone, and not walking enough. Chris Capuano has been a bust this season, and Jeff Suppan has been inconsistent (although better lately). Damian Miller hasn't done much either. Sheets can't stay healthy enough.

Some of these guys have been on losing Brewers teams too long and it's a shame that they aren't taking advantage of this playoff chance to finally rise to the occasion and be the leaders that they are expected to be.

This team pisses me off.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Mench stinks too.
