Hopefully Jimmy learns to shed the Dave Bush Big Inning. Been really good until he hits the wall.

He needs a third pitch. He struggles the third time through the order.

I thought he had a change? He really needs something off-speed.

Is it me or do we lead the league in K's on offense? Feels like our hitters think they face Cy Young on a daily basis.

Milwaukee is 19th in strikeouts--below average!

How about K's on balls out of the zone? Is there a stat for that?

Don't know of a stat for that but the Brewers do have the 2nd highest out of zone swing rate in MLB at 34.8%, so they definitely chase a lot of bad pitches. Braun 41.8%, Gomez 40.9%, Aramis 39.8% and Scooter at 38.7% are the biggest culprits though they are also four of our best hitters so I guess it's working for them.

I was shocked Ramirez didn't score on Lucroy's hit that bounded off the wall that far? Was he standing on 1st waiting to tag up on the catch or ONLY halfway between 1st and 2nd thinking the CF would double him off on an acrobatic catch and throw if he were any farther? Good Grief.

...and a weak grounder to short. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a little more Herrera at SS now and then. He's been a pretty nice improvement over the first time he was called up with the Brewers. Segura is just in a funk. He started looking a little better maybe a month ago - he was driving the ball a bit more, and using right field. Now he just rolls over the ball. At least his D has been really good.

It does work (obviously, we are 2nd in the NL in runs scored), but I think it's frustrating for people to watch them swing and miss at so many bad pitches.

Remember when a one run lead after 7 seemed like a guaranteed win. Let's pretend it is the good old days.

I have to admit, I'm a bit (OK, a lot) nervous. On another note, I can't believe Jeffress only has one strikeout (and that was in his last game, which was a not-so-great one overall.)

How are we looking tonight, guys? Lightning storm here, so I've had to unplug the tv. I might load it up on my laptop in a minute..
There are three things America will be known for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: the Constitution, jazz music and baseball. They're the three most beautifully designed things this culture has ever produced. Gerald Early

20 minutes of terror started early. Back to back walks don't help you keep a lead.
