Finally watched the UEFA Final and it was very entertaining. Seemed like Barca had them on the run the whole game, but what do I know.

Usmnt just beat Germany 2-1 and beat Holland last week. Also our U20 team just beat Columbia and is now in the quarterfinal of the U20 world cup against Serbia.

GER v FRA was an entertaining match yesterday. The French-Canadians in Montreal were quite festive in their support of France. Unlucky for France to lose, who outplayed the Germans.

the Women World Cup final was ten time bettere than the Copa America Final.

I wouldn't have imagined the team that looked like they might get shellacked by Australia in the first half would go on to win the tournament in such fashion. Great to see the US women return to their rightful place atop the world. The quality of play in the womens' game has improved so much over the past 20 years that to me this victory is far more impressive than the previous ones.

 

Now, with the pipeline of young talent on the Mens' side, we can start to get excited about 2018 and (moreso) 2022. Julian Green, DeAndre Yedlin, John Brooks, Gideon Zelalem, Emerson Hyndman, Christian Pulisic...The USMNT could legitimately make a run to the semi-finals in the next decade. But first, a Golf Cup victory can assure the USMNT will put them through to the Confederations Cup, which would be nice.

Yes, quite an entertaining match to watch. In fact, my wife and I found the whole tournament entertaining. And yes, after watching the Australia match I never would have imagined the defense stepping up the way they did.

Screwy lineup tonight for USMNT with Yedlin, Brooks, and Johnson out and Mix, Garza, and Ream in. Granted Yedlin was sloppy vs. Honduras but Brooks and Johnson made up for the Chandler-Alvarado struggle. Must just be a rest for those guys, but they haven't looked overly convincing vs. Haiti thus far...
