The Rockies have to feel pretty good about their draft tonight. I liked Nikorak, but I still think he seemed too hittable for a guy throwing as hard as he does. I am interested to see how he develops as a pro.

Rockies got more talent with their 3/27 than the Astros did with their 2/5. What a draft for them.

And thinking this pick by the Braves is to afford Allard is need be.

HAhaha Too funny. See Angels draft room celebrate and then draft a guy rated about #100....Like OMG he fell to us!

Angels like being terrible in the minor prospect rankings.

Too bad Kentrail Davis wasn't overdrafted when Mike Trout went off the board one pick before the Crew.

Not sure how to take this...I think you've got it reversed as Trout was Milw's savior nabbed just ahead of the Brewers pick. Angels were glad at picking this guy rated around #100...Brewers weren't celebrating when Trout was selected.

The brewers have an exceptional history with pitcher and injury prevention. What about taking a guy like Matuella? He should have been a top 10 top 5 guy if he didnt get injured.

An exceptional history of injury prevention? Nelson and tomorrow Jungmann are the only 2 pitchers to come through the system without having surgery at some point.

Its easy to look at what might seem like they have a lot of injuries but that would be only if you compare them to nobody else

"In the last 10 years, the Brewers have had just two big leaguers undergo Tommy John surgery, the lowest number in the majors. The entire organization, including the minors, has been just as successful at avoiding the pitcher's worst nightmare — only 12 total procedures since 2005, the second lowest rate of the 30 teams."

They would be tied for the lowest if it wasnt for Johnny Hellweg and I think its fair to say the angels played a part in that.

Im stuck at a work thing. Don't these politicians know the draft is happening? Who's still out there? Wish lists?

How many picks tonight?

Ponce is my #1 choice. Lots of high-ranked guys still around though, hopefully the Brewers take one.

What if Daz is there at 40 ?? ........

He won't be drafted for a long long time now. No one is wasting a pick on him now. Like most guys who are set on going to college he will drop in the 30 round area at least.

Funkhouser has night been picked, neither have Cody Ponce, or Mike Matuella, among pitchers, and in the field, there's Cameron and Betts, and I think we're right in KeBryan Hayes' range now.

Funkhouser and Hayes are the only two guys I had in round one who are still available, so for me at least, names will start to get murkier soon.

From Kiley McDaniel in his Fangraphs chat...

Asked an exec if Funkhouser's slide is due to his camp not sending out medicals. "I think it's just because he sucks." Alrighty.

I would be thrilled to get Funkhouser at 40 though.

Wondering if he will consider going back to school though? Scott Boras isn't one to back down even when things aren't looking all that rosy. Pre-draft articles had quotes from Funkhouser saying he still expected to go in the top ten tonight.

EDIT: Or maybe he has a deal with the D-backs, Astros, or Braves.
