If this season were a movie, then the Brewers finished the second act on Sunday. They look beaten up and ready to give in. The rich kids everyone expects to win (The Cubs) are inches away, while the scrappy Brewers have lost some close games. Hope is running low. Even their home team paper's polls say they're going to lose.

 

Now's when someone steps up, gives an emotionally moving speech, maybe points a picture of a lady in the locker room, and then we enter the comeback montage sequence where first they start out by lifting weights and running up the stairs at the art museum. Then they go on a tear, winning their way into the playoffs... and our hearts.

The Bad News Bears reminds me a lot of the Brewers right now. I can compare Gallardo to Tatum O'Neal since she was young and Gallardo is considered a "can't miss" type of pitcher. I can compare Rickie Weeks to Abdul or that kid who wore No. 44.
