hopefully this does mean that a Cotts trade can be worked out in short order. doesn't make sense to call up Santana if you are going to claim a RP.

i can't even begin to count how many times jimenez has had his contract selected, been outrighted, and then added back to the 40-man roster again. given how often the phillies have done so, you'd think that they were outrighting instead of optioning because he was out of minor league options.

 

his transaction history is too muddled for me to determine whether he has any options remaining. i'm sensing none.

i liked jimenez during his brief 2015 stint with the club. glad to see he's back on a minor league deal with an invitation to big league camp. the club needs left handed depth.

not sure if we'll ever learn why jimenez didn't make it to arizona. it looks like he won't be part of the brewers' plans moving forward . . .
