What Fringe prospects are you watching and why?

I am sorry thought most would get it guess showing my age.

I thought it was genius actually, but military history is one of my hobbies. As to Starcraft, well we're all dating ourselves but before Command and Conquer the Warcraft/Starcraft series were the best RTS games around. Even after C&C you couldn't beat the cut scenes from the Blizzard products... lots of LAN parties with my buddies playing various RTS games and Quake in my early 20s when I was still in MN.

I don't think Suter is in our top 25, let alone top 2, but he deserves a shot at this point. Maybe BP rather than SP, but he had earned his chance.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Still not much hype building for Franley Mallen, looking like the kinda of prospect we were hoping for

Probably because he is an international guy with little stateside experience. Pretty hard to follow him when he isn't in stateside ball and he wasn't a big time signing(Lara). Though he was almost a $1mil signing so not a total unknown. Probably won't get much attention until he starts hitting in Wisconsin. Then people tend to take notice.

Mitch Ghelfi is having a nice year in Wisconsin. Switch hitter that plays 1B and catcher. He's already 23 so it'd be nice to see him promoted and find out what he can do at the next level.

It's just frustrating to see him from the bullpen when he is pitching well as a starter in Colorado Springs.

I don't get the thinking behind that. I just don't.

Something for Clancy, Kyle Liesniewski has a nice article at BP Milwaukee on Suter and pitching depth.

Had a chance to read the article. Not bad, but here's what has me excited about Suter: In Colorado Springs over two years, he's allowed six homers in 118+ innings. He's also only walked 18 people over those two years. In a hitter's paradise.

My worry is that the shuffling between the bullpen and rotation means that the Brewers aren't maximizing what seems to be some potential in Suter. I don't think "mediocre" posts a 3.72 ERA in Colorado Springs.
