That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

He tossed 5⅔ scoreless innings in his only career start against the Marlins.

LA Marlins of Anaheim?

Well, the statement is right, but it's hardly relevant as Jimmy hasn't faced the Marlins since 2013. This is his first start against the Angels. I'll change the lead.

Why have Villar sacrifice in front of Braun with one out? Why not have Presley do it (if you're going to sacrifice)?

Of course, as I type that Lucroy comes through.

I highly doubt that was called.....I think Villar was bunting for a hit on his own

This is fun again.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

There isn't a lot of suspense right now, but it feels a lot better than being down by six runs.

Villar is really having a nice season so far. .370 on base and playing a nice SS.

It also keeps any calls for calling up Arcia at bay, which is a good thing right now.

I really hate instant replay. There's no such thing as an exciting close play anymore. Just "Hmm, that was close. I'll be interested to see what call they make 5 minutes from now."

I think Rock said it right with that reversal at home plate. "Kind of like touch football"

I guess they applied the rule right after 5 minutes review but seems like a joke.

To the letter of the law, probably the right call. But that play was not what the rule is trying to prevent. And it shouldn't have taken as long as it did to get it right.

I'd love if replay could somehow be studied. And not simply how often does it overturn a call, correct an incorrect call, etc.

I want to know how often it actually affects the outcome of who wins a game, affects the final league standings, changes who wins a championship. Because in the end, that's all that really matters, right? My guess is it actually has very little benefit while detracting from the game itself on a daily basis.

But because we have overanalyzed and overreacted to every missed call ever made, this is now sports.

My mom said in an email to me recently that she wishes the Brewers could clone Jimmy Nelson...three or four times. Of course, she grew up in the "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain" era.

He did turn out a bit better than Suppan. ;)

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
