At Biloxi, LHP Cam Roegner lands on the 7-day DL, while RHP Danny Reynolds is activated from the same list.

 

Roegner's injury happened Thursday, and darn it, I am so done with pitchers batting already. I was a holdout for a long time, but the Guerra / Nelson / Anderson 2017 Brewers injuries just finally knocked me to my senses.

Max McDowell pops out to second baseman Taylor Featherston.

Cameron Roegner strikes out swinging.

Corey Ray flies out to center fielder Jose Siri.

Pitching Change: Cody Ponce replaces Cameron Roegner, batting 9th.

 

The announcer at Biloxi's WXXV was having some fun with it here, but certainly didn't realize the awkward swing prompted an exit. Granted, even Roegner walked off with a smile, but that sure looked like one of those oblique swings (total conjecture on my part).

FOLLOWUP: I'm hearing that whatever the cause of Roegner's DL placement, it was not related to this at-bat, and the nature of his placement is unclear. So hopefully Cam's back in time for Biloxi's postseason run.

 

I'm still done with pitchers batting, though...

3B Lucas Erceg and RHP Josh Uhen hit the Biloxi 7-day DL, with Erceg's placement retroactive to 8/24.

 

C Johan Mojica and RHP Conor Harber were activated from Biloxi's DL to replace them. Mojica has been Biloxi's bullpen catcher all season, so he gets to see a little actual game action. Harber had been out of action since the 16th.

In a bit of a surprise move, RHP Jolon Lun has been promoted from the AZL to Helena. Lun (aka Lun Zhao) is still a day shy of his 17th birthday so he could pitch tonight in the Pioneer League as a 16-year-old. That's something. Also makes you wonder if he has a shot at Wisconsin's roster next year. He worked 4.1 scoreless innings in the AZL in his initial pro assignment.

The Brewers purchased the contract of RHP Chris Hall from the Frontier League's Schaumburg Boomers. He was a 14th round pick of the Blue Jays in 2016, made it as high as Lansing in the Midwest League last year, and was released before spring training of this year.

Tim Dillard activated off of Colorado Spring's DL prior to yesterday's doubleheader, with Rymer Liriano being transferred to the AZL roster.

Liriano back on the active roster with the Sky Sox as of yesterday. Also, Erik Davis was activated off of Colorado Springs' DL and Tom Jankins was promoted from Biloxi to Colorado Springs.

8/31 - Nate Orf and Ariel Hernandez sent outright to Colorado Springs after being removed from the 40-man roster.

 

8/31 - Jacob Nottingham activated off of the Sky Sox' 7-day DL.

 

8/31 - Purchased the contract of infielder Emilio Bonifacio from the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League and placed him on the active roster.

 

9/1 - Eric Sogard released.

 

9/1 - LHP Cameron Roegner activated off of the Biloxi Shuckers' DL and promoted to Colorado Springs.

 

9/1 - Catcher Dustin Houle activated off of the Sky Sox' DL.

Wisconsin OF Zach Clark was placed on the team's Temp Inactive List when Keon Broxton was activated on the 29th and then reinstated from the same list to the active roster when Broxton was brought up to Milwaukee.

 

OF Nic Pierre was reinstated from Wisconsin's 7-day DL.

Brewers have re-signed Minor League righty Preston Gainey, the 2012 Draft pick out of the U.S. Naval Academy who had Tommy John surgery in the spring.

In other Minor League news, Brewers released RHPs Cody Martin and Daniel Missaki. Crew got Missaki from the Mariners (with Freddy Peralta and Carlos Herrera) for Adam Lind, but he had a second TJ surgery in March 2016 and hasn't pitched a regular season game since.

The Brewers have signed RHP Juan Chourio. No other info available at this point, besides the fact that he was born 4/22/02. Chourio, as with fellow recent signees Jesus Parra, Sebastian Burciaga, Oscar Castaneda, and Edinson Gonzalez, were all signed to "future" contracts and have been assigned provisionally to the DSL co-op roster.

 

LHP Starling Javier and C Luis Valderrama have been assigned from the DSL main roster to the co-op roster.

 

C Eduin Lugo and RHP Wellington Nunez have been assigned from the DSL co-op roster to the DSL main roster.

 

2B Luis Manon has been activated from the AZL's 60-day DL and transferred back to the DSL's active roster.

 

RHP Nestor Batista has been activated from the DSL's 60-day DL.

 

RHP Cristian Sierra has been activated from the DSL co-op's Restricted List.

 

Joel Munoz has been converted from a catcher to a pitcher, and has been reinstated from the DSL co-op's suspended list.
