I disagree with Counsell's decision to choose a game of that magnitude to sit Yelich, but I certainly don't question Yelich over it or believed for a second that he asked to be sat.

Well, we’re sitting behind a keyboard and he basically lives with these guys, so I’m guessing he has a better gauge of what is going in with the players than we do. It sounds like CC noticed he was struggling mentally or physically and talked to him. I don’t believe for a second if Yeli kicked and screamed and demanded to play that he would have played (see what I did there?).

 

I guess I don’t get the second guessing on stuff like this. CC has the best interest of the team AND the players in mind when he makes these decisions, it’s not like he’s trying to lose on purpose.

Definitely more pitches than I would have liked to see Hader throw for 1 inning. You could sit him now and maybe have him back after 1 day off, or go one more and definitely lose him until the Wrigley series.

I didn't ever suggest he was trying to lose on purpose. I just struggle to believe that of all the days for Yelich to get a day off, it absolutely had to fall during those 3 crucial games. If that's the case, I think he should have proactively been sit during the Nats' series.

Yep. There is a difference between disagreeing with something and blind hatred. I'm sure most Brewer fans at this point do not agree with the decision to acquire Schoop, but that doesn't mean they hate David Stearns or think he wants to lose.

5 walks the past 2 innings. Gotta convert at least some of these chances. Instead we can't get any kind of hit. Perez has had 5 baserunners his last 2 ABs & did nothing. Ouch.

I think it is specific to the director of the broadcast. Some use it more than others. That was just a horrible time for it, though. Agree totally.

Thames is way overdue. I was at the game in early August when he hit the walkoff 2 out HR to beat the Rockies and it's hard to think of much he's done since then.
