I like the Dodgers to overtake the Cards and Rockies today. Don't hold out much hope for a Reds win. I think Atlanta, Houston and San Francisco will win.

Of the three teams we might have to play in a WC; Colorado is by far the team I would prefer. At this point I am all in cheering for the Dodgers to win that division and Colorado edging STL for WC2. In all likelihood we wouldn't need to play the Dodgers until the NLCS and I am fine taking my chances at that point.

Carpenter out of the Cards lineup and Rizzo out of the Cubs lineup both for a "breather". Will we see he same fervent uproar as when Yelich sat a day? I highly doubt it.

I can see the Cubs fans being a little upset about it.

Brewers fans are not exclusuve in questioning mangagerial decisions... Not even close!

I'm talking about the national "pundit" uproar.

I think it would actually be best for the Cards and Dodgers to split the remaining two games in that series, keeping them tied in the standings. I hope the Nats beat Atlanta, obviously the Reds to beat the Cubs, and Arizona to beat Houston so they stay alive and have something to play for against the Cubs. Also want the Giants to beat the Rockies. I know a lot of you guys don't want to see the Dodgers in the playoffs, but they are likely in unless they go super cold the last couple weeks of the year.

I agree that the Dodgers make it in one way or another. I just don't see the Rockies being good enough to hold on to the division. I think it's the Rockies or Cards for the second WC. If the Dodgers are going to get in, might as well bury the Cards on the way.

I'm on this train as well. I think LA is winning that division ... so my hope now is that Colorado can stay above the Cardinals ... I want LA winning the next two if at all possible.

If the brewers can't win the division I would love Colorado coming into Milwaukee in a playoff.

Colorado may go to Chicago though. I think the central is still in doubt.

That's fine. If the Brewers win the Central, they would likely have the best record in the National League, which would mean facing the Wild Card winner.

If they beat out the Cubs, I have no problem facing either the Cubs or Rockies in the NLDS. Let the Braves and Dodgers beat up on each other.

The only question is whether Colorado can hold off the Cards. Arizona is just close enough in that division to still be a factor there too.

I didn't think John Smoltz was a total "get off my lawn and take the nerds with you guy" but his half inning rant was pretty annoying. Apparently teams shouldn't use shifts and need to go back to stealing bases and bunting it's proven that that's how you win and it's more entertaining.

Cardinals laying a big egg in their four-game set against the Dodgers, down 17-4 after dropping the first two. If they get swept, I would think it's going to be tough for them to stay in contention for one of the Wild Card spots. I can't say it wouldn't make me at least a little happy to see them out of the picture.

The Cardinals sure can trot a whole lot of meh out of that bullpen.

Yeh, like De La Rosa, Maples, J. Garcia, Norwood, Duensing, and Rosario!

We are in a bad situation having to count on the pathetic Reds... They will lay an egg in the Cubs series, but come out with guns blazing against us, watch and see.

Yup, this is EXACTLY what is going to happen, you just know it...Can't score runs against the Cubs, but will tattoo the Brewer pitching staff.

The Cubs are doing what they should be doing against an inferior team. The Reds have absolutely nothing to play for at this point.

Sometimes those are the most dangerous teams. Loose. Obviously not in this case.

You would sure like to think the Reds could win a game in which they allow 1 run.
