Was also a little bummed that SIXTO was taken.

S1XT0 is available in both Brewers plates.

My friend got PTBNL.

Unfortunately I live in Illinois and can't get them. But they have Cubs ones, and I'm thinking about getting one that says, "YELCH1". Or get University of Illinois plates that say "BUCKY1".

The inspiration came from a guy I saw driving around with Notre Dame plates that say, "USC1". I thought that was a clever way to take a jab at a rival.

I followed someone this morning with a Brewers license plate that was "4for4"

I'm not sure I get the reference.

Maybe a family of 4 that are fans of Molitor?

Wait...are you guys serious? You guys don’t get that plate?

Y’all need to look at more box scores, preferably ones where a guy gets four hits...in four ABs....

[sarcasm]Gee, thanks for that bit of knowledge.[/sarcasm] Of course that is part of it, but I would hope that is not all it means. Otherwise it's kind of lame without much thought put into it. I mean why not just use any baseball term then? How about 5 for 5, or HR, or walk, or double, or cycle, or inning? I would think there is more to it than that and there is some double meaning to it (or even triple meaning) . They are using Molitor's number in a well known baseball "phrase"..and possibly there are 4 people in his family as well.

Or they don't like Molitor and think he was selfish taking the better deal and leaving ... It is hard to know the underlying meaning without rolling your window down at a stoplight and asking...

Interesting take.

Real Reason:

Thought of the most thought-provoking idea to put on their plate so a bunch of people on a fan forum on the world wide web would try to figure out how many meanings it has.

Every time on here when we start questioning a plate it makes me want to come up with something with no meaning just to see how you guys respond after seeing me drive down the road.

I don't know if this should be obvious, but the meaning of the 9 OF 13 ball-glove plate I see at Miller Park isn't obvious to me.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I mean, Billy Jo Robidoux wore those two numbers as a Brewer.

Pretty close to how we ended last year: 10/13 is what we did though. Maybe they are bad at math (or me). Though unless that plate it new that is obviously not a possible fail on their part.

The people to wear 9 or 13 aren't obvious. Specifically most were one year scrubs or just plain bad.

I really want to say OF stands for outfield....but for some reason I really feel it means 9 of 13 or in another way 9 out of 13.

Perhaps nothing to do with baseball? Maybe he/she is the 9th of 13 kids in their family? Yes, that's a lot of siblings.....but maybe the fact that it is so rare is why they are putting it on their plates.

They might simply like the clever phonetic element of it to go along with a general baseball reference.

I know what 4 for 4 means. I just don't get the significance if it relates to a particular person or event.

Why does it need to have significance beyond a baseball term? I'm sure someone has GRSLAM, HR, WLKOFF, etc. all kinds of baseball related terms. Don't think about it too hard, just take it as face value. Only other thing it COULD be on top of that is having 4 people in the family, but that's about it.

No, as mentioned, could be a reference Molitor as well. If 4 for 4 just means 4 for 4 as in the baseball term, then should have just saved some money and gone with the generic non personalized plate imho.
