Yeah I mean if all you're going to do is fair catch and then not be able to do that every time you may want to try someone else.

Also, Jack Dunn is really, really bad at returning punts. Seems like he makes the wrong choice on catch/let it bounce every other time he's back there.

One more time for emphasis.

Going for two? Thanks, Pat.

Are we just going to implode?

That was a false start.

Orr has been everywhere today.

After today - defense is great and will have them in every game regardless of opponent.

However, offense could just be bad enough to cost them in every game against even a decent defense when it has a bad day. Conan's play today is very concerning

I turned on the game in the early 4th. I've only seen 3 offensive plays by W. Wierd game.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Fitz is an idiot. I could see him going for it after the first TD, but an extra point here would've made it a one possession game. Now the game is over so long as UW takes care of the ball.

That was a good place for a bootleg.

Down 15 you still need 8 + 7 to tie so you're going to need a 2 at some point anyway, it doesn't really matter when it is. Personally I always disagreed with the norm on that and would prefer to take it after TD #1 so I know right away if I need 1 more score or 2. There's no statistical advantage to waiting.

These guys are harping on it quite a but does it really matter if lose because you cant get a point conversion down 9 or down 2?

I just don't agree with that strategy. The goal, if you are trailing in a game, is to eliminate a possession on every score if possible, especially this late in the game. Northwestern willingly chose not to do that in not electing to kick the extra point.

So is this the first good defensive team we played? Whole 4th quarter and we had 6 very unimpressive offensive plays (not counting the knee downs).

Obvious trap game with Kent St coming up next week.

But you don't *know* that 8 is a one possession game, it is still predicated on whether or not you can convert the 2. It does not matter whether you fail on the first touchdown or fail on the 2nd, if you fail to convert your 2 point conversion, 15 points is still a 3 possession game.
