Rooting for the Cardinals here reminds me of a year, maybe around 2000, when the Cardinals knocked out the Vikings late in the game? The name Poole comes to mind. Anybody remember the finite details on that?

It was 2003, it was Nate Poole and it was glorious.

How could anyone forget the finite details on that one?

:)

It occurred the weekend before "We want the ball and we're gonna score", and sadly, two weekends before 4th and 26.

And the week after the Irv Favre game. Pretty eventful four week stretch.

Thank you! Was that also Irv Favre death year? What a year of ups and downs. Were the Packers eliminated with a Cardinals loss? What else had to go right that weekend?

Whenever I'm feeling down, I watch that clip and it genuinely cheers me up. Just the feral scream "NOOOOO!" warms the cockles of my heart.

There's a few sport clips that no matter how many times I watch them I just cant help but smile. That is one of them.

Mine is the Randall Cobb TD late against the Bears to clinch the division. Streaking down the middle of the field I believe on 4th and 8 with about 30 ticks to go.

Oh crap, Hundley's in for the Cardinals.

I struggle to think they'll get another first down the rest of the game.

Hundley cant throw an accurate ball more than about 4 yards downfield, so you may be correct.

That one for sure.

Nyjer Morgan knocking in carlos gomez in game 5 of the 2011 nlds.

Antonio Freeman's ridiculous catch on mnf vs the vikes.

Mine was the Brewers’ second home game of the year in 2018. Brewers down by 1 with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to the Cardinals and Yelich and Braun hit back to back home runs on back to back pitches. I get goosebumps every time I watch it. Plus, I was there at that game about 4 rows behind the Brewers’ dugout! :)

14-0 Titans. If we win tomorrow and the Saints lose would that clinch a first round bye?

Yeah it was early to think all that positive to that score. 14pts was never going to be enough to beat that N.O. team. If it were 27-0 late in the 3rd I think I'd be okay to wonder on the scenario you were asking. So all 3 teams with 11-3 record have had trouble winning their games. Can Rodgers turn in a Dec game of old and make this team scary?

Like this Seattle game now theres an upset looking closer and closer to reality.

Kinda looks like the 49ers peaked a bit too early this season....the #1 seed is most definitely still in play if the packers win monday night.

The 49ers or Seahawks gotta actually lose first.

Check - too bad the rams blew it last night, too.

Dak doesn't throw a pass all week in practice due to a shoulder injury so naturally Garrett has him throw 44 times while only giving Zeke 13 carries. Garrett is so fired.

I watch Favre throwing that INT for the Vkes against the Saints

"This is not Detroit this is the Super Bowl!!"

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

That sound bite has always confused me. Was the announcer implying Favre’s mistake was so bad, it would ordinarily only be made by a Lions’ quarterback?

I always took it to mean they aren't playing Detroit, they're playing for a trip to the Super Bowl against a great team so it might be a throw Favre may have got away with if they were playing the Lions. But yeah, it's a pretty vague statement. Allen was so angry he probably didn't even know what he meant.

I was living in Vikings’ country in 2009 and their fans were insufferable. They were convinced Favre was going to deliver them a Super Bowl victory and that he would go into the HOF as a Viking (even though that’s not a thing). They ordered custom #4 jerseys with ‘Thanks Ted’ on the nameplate as if TT had somehow bungled the QB situation in Green Bay and gifted them their QB of destiny. I’ve never rooted harder for a team to lose. And TT handled that situation masterfuly by hanging on to his QB of destiny and using the pick they acquired from the Jets to trade up for Clay Matthews.

I was at the MNF game where Favre played against the Packers at the Metrodome. I was certain I was going to jail that night.

When it's 4th and less than 5, don't rush the punter. Don't do anything to risk giving them a free first down running into the kicker. Yet, teams still do it.
