It would appear most on this board are football fans first...

Right?!? I don’t want anymore lectures from people on here about people selling their tickets to Cubs fans.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Why is Ray Black an option?

I've been told his sample size qualifies him as a solid option- I get that there aren't a lot of great options, but that doesn't qualify him a good/ great (obviously)

Lovely that a crappy elf hits two off us in one game. How do they always produce annoying scrubs that only perform against us?

When you don’t have a 2nd pitch, it doesn’t matter how hard you throw.

I've really wanted to buy into the Ray Black hype, but too many people are anointing him as an elite future closer because of a triple digit fastball and GM-speak and his minor league K/9.

You have to have more than stuff. Taylor Williams was once proclaimed as having the best stuff in the organization and he's probably bordering on DFA land.

Black is a fine guy to take a flyer on but the Giants haven't been missing out on some big secret right under their noses. There's a reason he's been around as long as he has with the Giants' organization without producing in the big leagues.

Go away Freitas. Start using Nottingham.
