Wish the Cubs could’ve taken 1 at least, but having them implode at Wriggley is hilarious.

The Cubs and Phillies missing the playoffs is a great thing to me.

Like I told my friend, if we weren't counting on them for the division it would be funnier.

I’m not too sad the Cubs lost. It’s almost better to be honest, their collapse is just grand. As long as we keep winning and secure the WC hosting right I will be quite happy with this year.

So much for beating each other up. That should just about do it for the division. The Cubs are even Ill-annoying when you want them to win.

Though yes, losing six in a row to go from holding the wild card to four back while getting swept in four at home to the Cards, including three ninth inning meltdowns...is HILARIOUS.

You gotta admit though, deep down you're loving the fact that the Cubs are imploding again in September.

Oh I make no bones about it. I once introduced myself as Charles Ficago to a C hat wearer in an ohare bar pre flight. Always make sure to wear Brewers gear if flying through there.

2 9th inning, 1 10th inning.

Glad the Cubbies lost again. I just want in the playoffs. 4 games up is big. DBacks still in it, they can beat the Cardinals. Not counting on the Phillies to do much from here on out, but the tribe will go to DC having to win to get that last WC. This will be a great week of baseball.

I found myself glad that the Cubs lost.

When it gets this late I can’t take anything for granted, and the memory of the Brewers getting swept in Cincinnati (twice on shutouts in games started by Gray and Castillo) is too fresh. Plus, even the beat up and beaten down Cubs can sweep the Pirates. I’ll take as big a cushion over the Cubs as the Brewers can get and hope the DBacks can win one or two from the Cards. I don’t want to go into the weekend with the Brewers only ahead of the Cubs by 1 or 2 games and the Cardinals lounging around waiting for the playoffs.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Also paying attention to the Phillies and Indians tonight. Those teams are both still mathematically in playoff contention, though the Phillies are on life support, and are the opponents for the Nats this week. Since the Indians will likely still be in playoff contention going into the weekend one way or another, it might be better for the Phillies to win tonight and hope they will keep fighting until the Nats eliminate them.

It does kind of suck that the cubs have an automatic 3 wins coming up. That’s why it’s great to be up 4 games. So even if we lose the series against the reds we are still ahead

There is no such thing as automatic wins in baseball.
