Game 9: Jaguars @ Packers - Sunday, Nov 15th, Noon CT

Just switched over from the Masters. Looks like another NFL football game broke out. Why are fans so concerned with being the SB Champs on paper? Put yourself in the tournament and then see how the games play out. The Packers body of work even with some disappointments should accomplish the first part.

It's amazing to me that you are always so high on the Packers but the Bucks can be on pace to win 70 games and they'll have a game where they'll allow 45% from 3 and you'll be all over how bad their 3 pt defense is.

Both are true statements. I am high on the Packers making the tournament year after year and I do not like the defensive scheme the Bucks deploy. Color yourself amazed.

I feel another turnover coming.

Buy a lottery ticket.

It's just we've seen this movie before against bad teams.

It's not just bad teams, you can just feel when this team doesn't show up under MLF. They are just such a soft team that doesn't handle adversity very well.

I'm going to see if I can change the mojo and just turn off the TV and go get some work done

I think I’ve got a 4th quarter dog walk coming just to lower the blood pressure, if nothing else.....

It's games like these why I don't gamble.

Funny you mention that. I rarely have confidence in the Packers. I never count wins before the clock hits 0:00. This week, however, I was reasonably confident the 6-2 Packers would dispatch of the 1-7 Jaguars. The football gods are smiting me.

We are seriously talking about this team making the Super Bowl?

This team won’t escape the divisional round. Heck, losing to an NFC East winner isn’t out of the question. Not even going on the road to a warmer climate/dome in the playoffs changes my mind. This team doesn’t have it, and it’s an institution-wide failure.

The hot takes are flowing. Whoa.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I've never seen a Packers team and never thought I would ever see a Packers team as soft as this one, and that's including the teams of the 70s and 80s. If anyone punches them in the mouth they fold like a cheap suit.

Who is?

I would wager against this team winning the Super Bowl but the hysterics over losing during a game to a bad NFL team are starting to get tiresome. I can go up and down the list of SB champs and find loads of crappy teams that beat them in the regular season. The last Packers team that won it lost 6 games. There's a 9-7 Giants team in there that looked totally meh most of the season and was in the bottom 1/4 of defense rankings.

There is no checklist of things you can and cannot do in the regular season. I'm not high on this team by any stretch, but it usually really is just who is good enough to get in AND starts playing really well at the end.

Well if we lose it's going to be 3 of 5, 2 of which we were heavily favored at home and 1 of the wins was a Covid joke. Not a great trend. But the Jags suck, maybe we pull it out and things won't seem so bleak.

Some guy bet $99k at -1100 on the Packers to win.

Exactly. This is hardly a hot take. This has been trending for a month now.

Is that straight up or a spread bet?

This is such a classic Brew4U post to say something like this when things are going bad.

:laughing

I dont mean that in a bad way. I know you're right.
