Old friend Cody Ponce takes the mound versus the Crew today. Ponce last pitched on Tuesday going 3.0 IP and allowing 6 hits and 3 runs to the Rockies. The only previous start of Ponce’s MLB career came earlier this year (May 25) versus the Cubs in which he lasted 5.0 IP while giving up 4 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I know Wong's been hurt a good chunk of the year, but he must have shared some Cardinal Devil Magic with Jace Peterson. And even though we know Taylor as a decent prospect, he must look like Devil Magic to other teams too. So, go Wong. Fun guy to have on your team.

I can’t believe Urias has double the homers of Yelich

 

I wonder if his lack of homers is because pitchers aren't giving him much to hit? I checked some stats at the MLB website. Right now he has 42 walks in only 50 games!

Doesn’t really make any sense. You don’t go from a slugging % of .671 to barely over .400 because you aren’t getting as many good pitches. Also, MVP Yelich got a bunch of great pitches to hit, but now that he is struggling they are going to challenge him less? Not sure I’d buy that completely.

 

Not sure why he is back to his Miami time power numbers…but I’m sure there are much better explanations than less quality pitches.

Wow, these are two of the closest lineups to the previous game for both teams of any game this season. Besides the pitchers, Garcia is the only change.

 

We should get the same 7-2 outcome as the last two games

My new theory is that we've been the best team in baseball for years but everyone else except us has been cheating and now they can't cheat anymore. ;)
