With the changes in shift rules, do you think they will need to call a field?  Or... was I the only one who called a field when I was a kid?

Only when you have a ghost fielder! And yes, I have. Both as a kid and an adult (softball practice mainly).

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I think zombie runner is the better name. Oh you think you killed that rally last inning by getting that last guy out? Think again, he’s back from the dead on second base with an appetite for a Home Plate full of catcher brains.

The Manfred Man is my favorite name for it.

So, nothing's changing for next season. Sigh....

I don’t view it that way at all. Manfred is not part of the competitive committee, he’s not going to say something is going to happen without giving the committee process its due.

I think the pitch clock is all but a given for 2023, I only hope they won’t water it down and instead stick with the aggressive version they’ve deployed in the minors.

A significant MLBPA concession in the last CBA was that the players will not have as much say in rule implementation.
