Do the Red Sox implant a device into their players so when they go to another team they become the worst hitters in baseball?

Jackie Renfroe Jr has sure made quite the early impression.

The Angels Joe Maddon intentionally walked Corey Seager with the bases loaded despite the fact his team was down by just one run (3-2) before walking Seager to make it 4-2.

The Rangers scored two more runs in the inning to make it 6-2.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I've been rooting for Rowdy since we acquired him and right now he's the best hitter we got and is making the rest of the team look bad.  Hope he can keep it up.  Hope the rest of the team figures it out.

I'm old enough to remember when Mikolas meant we'd have a good night batting.

At least we avoided the shutout. We are very fortunate to be 4-4 after tonight when we have been terrible in pretty much every aspect of the game.

Yeah, in some ways, I feel better knowing we weathered a stretch of terrible baseball and went 4-4. Good teams steal wins where they can.

On the other hand, 6 of those games were against the Cubs and Orioles, so...?

Baseball. Small sample. Etc.

I admire the effort but was it really necessary in the ninth inning of a 10-1 game?

The current score of the game kind of makes me respect him even more for that.

That's fine but he could've put himself out of action with a stint on the IL. Not really worth it.

Yeah, I get it. It's not a smart move in the big picture, true. But he's not thinking big picture in the moment, so that's just pure reaction on competitive nature which I can respect.

An older fan in the section next to us started off the game by responding to every instance of bat/ball conduct with “There it is.” Not much emotion, and he wasn’t wearing either red or blue, so I couldn’t tell who he was rooting for…until Rowdy batted.  Then he got really animated and yelled at Miles Mikolas to STRIKE THIS GUY OUT, calling the first ball on him BS, etc.

During a game that brought few highlights, I took no small pleasure at seeing Rowdy get under this guy’s skin.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
