So we are facing a guy who is 0-2 with a 9 era

I’m not sure classifying Zack Wheeler as just some 9 ERA pitcher really captures the nuance of the matchup. He’s a top tier pitcher who had at least an argument to be the NL CY Young winner last year, and has been very good against the Brewers throughout his career. He’s had a 1.96 ERA against Milwaukee over 46.0 career innings.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I’m going to start adding the Statcast game preview link to the main Game Thread post. Without looking at the link, can someone name the starting hitter with the fast sprint speed this season among either team’s lineup?

Hint: It’s a Phillies player who was a former teammate with the Brewers sprint speed leader.

Do we have to keep throwing Cain out there and how and why is McCutchen in there every day regardless of the opponent. If the idea was for him to help against lefties who he hit very well last year it was a defensible signing but he can't hit righties at all at this point in his career. The fact that he is hitting cleanup and we really don't have any better options tells you how bad this lineup currently is.

I expect about two runs again this game

the stoppable force vs the movable object

except, wheeler isn't THAT pitcher...

My fear is there are those who think when Urias returns, our offense will magically start being good, or at least average.

We sure can use him, that is obvious, but he probably isn't going to be an "offense turner arounder" like some are hoping...

That’s why you rather be facing him when it’s a down stretch than when he’s 3-0 with a 0.50 era

Even though it would be a small sample size

I was going to post this thought lastnight. Urias is a fine player but he's hardly the needle mover this offense needs. They'll most certainly need to acquire another bat in the near future.

Rowdy hit it to the wrong part of the park.

Feels like the Brewers have had balls hit to the wrong part of the park all year so far.

No, you're confusing that with " he had one to hit and missed it".

I have a recording of circus music that I put on whenever the Brewers are batting.  Set's the perfect tone for this offense.

I always pictured the Loony Toons theme song. Actually they really should play that type of music for our hitters. It just might throw off the opposing pitcher LOLing.

Taylor needs to be given a shot at the everyday CF job. Cain is obviously far better defensively but as long as he is hitting like a pitcher he offers the team nothing.
