Because you literally said that pitching Woodruff wouldn't change the offense's ability to score runs. This offense arguably should have scored at least a few runs so far today, and with Woodruff pitching, we would be right in the game instead of in the midst of a blowout.

This is some word salad nonsense

plus woodruff hasn’t exactly shut everyone out this year

this game has nothing to do with the 6 man rotation argument. You could have pitched anyone we still are getting shut out right now.    What does it matter

Gotta wonder how much longer they'll roll with Cain out there.  Getting to be about time to find a phantom injury for a DL stint.

Didn’t he decide to sit out a whole season before.    Maybe just do that

If he hadn't done so we wouldn't be subjected to his uselessness right now.

I'm sure the Brewers would love to get out of having to pay him for another year, but I'm thinking DFA is more likely.  Would rather see Taylor play everyday.

"Word salad nonsense"? I was literally responding to what you said. It does matter, because we would probably still be in this game instead of getting blown out. And Woodruff is a top 10 pitcher in the world with a FIP that is even lower than Burnes' right now. He would've given us a much better chance to win this game, particularly against the Braves' right-handed heavy lineup.

That’s not true. His contract ran through this year regardless. He just forfeited his pay for the year he sat out.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Good to see Suter starting to figure things out against a lineup that is a difficult matchup for him. He's been a solid reliever for us the past few years and makes the back-end of the bullpen better when he's going good.

Assuming they don't scratch out a run here the last two innings how many times will they have been shut out so far this year and will that lead the league?

I would like to see a DFA of Cain and Peterson and a call-up of David Dahl and Brice Turang, with Tyrone Taylor being given the vast majority of CF at-bats and Turang backing him up. Unfortunately, I think we're about a month out from this even being considered. Cain is a good guy in the clubhouse and has done a lot for the organization. Those tend to be the guys that hang on the longest...

Re. Ashby. I think he needs to work in the bullpen for a while, where he seems to be the most effective anyways. Meanwhile, Ethan Small is probably a pitcher that is better suited for the rotation and can serve as the sixth starter when necessary. But I am starting to really come around to the notion that you should try to extract as much of your top 3 (4?) starters as possible, particularly when that is the one facet of your roster that sets you apart from every other team.

Good to see the Brewers are the wonderful guests they always are when they travel to Atlanta.  Struggling early in the season? No worries the Brewers will come in and do nothing against your good pitchers and BTW we'll throw our 6th starter at you so no need for BP on mother's day.
