For all the complaining about McCutchen hitting cleanup (and he shouldn't be! Make no mistake) Tyler O'Neill and his .607 OPS and 2 homeruns have hit either 3rd or 4th for the Cardinals 26 times, and he's hitting cleanup tonight.

O’Neill is playing his second game after coming off the IL, and Arenado was getting a night off.

O’Neill had 2 hits last night and 2 more, including an HR, tonight. After what O’Neill did last year he’s earned a longer leash. If he regains anything close to last year’s form the rest of the way he’ll give that lineup a big boost.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

LOL I don't care about past years for Castellanos what is he doing in 2022?

Renfroe:

Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR
2022 MIL MLB 40 159 9 .259 .296 .490 .336 114 0.7

Castellanos:

Season Team Level G PA HR AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ WAR
2022 PHI MLB 54 229 7 .249 .306 .411 .315 99 -0.3

Check back in two weeks. Castellanos has a track record. I will ride with him. No disrespect cause I like Renfroe but he ain't  Castellanos with the stick imo. That said who else you got?? They are missing Segura as well who is still pretty good.

Narvaez is currently better than Realmuto and Tellez is hitting better then Hoskins.  Like I said Harper is the only player on the Phillies that is a clear upgrade over the hitters the Brewers have.

So you are telling me you would rather start a playoff series with the Brewers lineup over the Phillies lineup today?? My point is the same give me their lineup come playoff time. If you prefer Yelii and the boys so be it.

with 9HR and an OPS of .749. That's healthy compared to most of our hitters.

Adames has had a streaky start to his season.

Over his first 16 games, he had an OPS of .574.

Then he went on the tear that included the 4 hit, 7 RBI game and winning Player of the Week. In those 10 games, all but one against the Pirates, Cubs, and Reds, he produced an OPS of 1.304 to raise his OPS for the season to .873.

Then in the last 9 games before his injury he slumped through an OPS of ,427. while going 4 for 32. Tonight's game makes him 4 for his last 36.

Minors are not as weak as they have been. 4 top 100 prospects, with the potential to have the number one prospect in baseball in short order. And 3 of those 4 are at AA or higher.

Agreed. They have more than enough on the farm to upgrade the offense, the question is what will player A take to acquire, and should they pay that? A generalization is that they have tended to pay, but not overpay. "Overpay" is subject to opinion, of course. But this has never been an "empty out the farm for a rental" organization, nor should it be.

If our guys are hitting like they are capable of (instead of what we are seeing lately) our lineup is better than the Phillies'.
