You might not expect a 56 year old librarian to look at this (especially the part where the visiting fans beat a hasty retreat) and say INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS.  Yet, here we are. ?

This is going to be my happy place when we're at Tuesday's game, sweating and watching the remaining pitchers try to hold things together.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Yeah both pitches missed by about an inch.  Those have been sometimes called strikes since the beginning of baseball.

Regardless of how close the pitches might have been, they highlight why I’m in favor of robo calls of balls and strikes. As long as they are close to as accurate as the human umps, it will remove the “human element” that includes umpires favoring certain pitchers or hitters (subconsciously or otherwise) or doing a Frank Drebbin imitation to thrill the home fans. Balls and strikes shouldn’t be affected by umpires having different strike zones or a catcher’s ability to frame pitches to make balls look like strikes.

When technology exists to improve officiating, why not take advantage of it? Think of electronic timing systems in things like Olympic swimming that can detect when a swimmer touches the wall instead of relying on human eyes to decide who touched a thousandth of a second sooner.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

the 2nd pitch was borderline, the first pitch of that ab was an indefensibly horrible call. that didn't miss by "about an inch"

Agreed

BA is a Milwaukee icon

Good dude

I just saw the highlights. BA was like a prophet on Caratini's walkoff.

Also I just realized that Suzuki hit an inside the parker. What a game!

If they are going to stick with giving the call to the umps then DON'T show us that strike box!  ?
