We already have two more DSL 'W's under our belts, all.

On the DSL Brewers 1 side of things:

Luis Lara had a fantastic 3-for-4 day with a dub (his 8th) and a triple (his 4th!!) and now has elevated his OPS past 1.000 as the lead-off lefty bat. I'm excite! He did get caught stealing - his 4th such offense to date. Jhonny Severino also went 3-for-4 in the DH spot today - including his 6th double.

Lefty hurler, Osbriel Mogollon continues to impress: 5 complete ip, 1 bb, 8 k's? That'll do. He's now pitched in five games, started 3, to a tune of 15 ip, 25 k's, 9 bb, 1.20 era, 0.93 WHIP. He's only 18 yo.

On the DSL 2 side of things:

A four-run bottom of the 4th sealed the victory. Demetrio Nadal scored the winning run after taking 2nd base on a throwing error. He was driven in by a line drive single to left field by Donis Rodriguez. 20 yo Dominican Stanley Encarnacion pitched 2 scoreless innings of 2 bb, 2 k ball and handed it over to 21 yo righty Nelson Cuevas who pitched a scoreless 7th to grab his 3rd Save. The Brewers 2 are back above 0.500 at 12-11. That's three straight against the Cubs and their affiliates. It is a fine day.

Diving deeper into my report today as I have more time dedicated to DSL and ACL prospects. A name that is really catching my eye is young 18 yo switch-hitting (primarily 1B this season. Naturally, milb has him listed as a SS - which might say something of his athletic profile regardless)  Dominican Arnys Rodriguez. All his numbers in 41 AB's are well above average. BUT, what catches my eye, mostly is: 13k's:13bb's. This isn't all that common - especially at this level - and it will be something to watch. A switch-hitting disciplined athletic infielder? I'm paying attention. Possibly a hidden gem in that summer of 2019 signing period.

I hope that Yeison Perez didn’t suffer a serious set-back.

Mogollon only recently turned 18 years old and is also a left-handed pitcher, so I may need to get more excited about him than even Kevin Briceno. ?

Big 2022 signing SS Johan Barrios has been absent for the past 15 days. Hope he’s available soon, so he can impress like Jhonny Severino has lately.

Yeah. I thought of that. It is listed as a 'defensive sub' into right field in the fifth inning. BUT, as we know, we won't know until the games happen in days ahead. He had grounded out to lead off the prior inning so if there was anything physical it may have happened there.

Speaking of 'Big', Johnny Severino is listed an inch taller and 25 pounds heavier than Mudcats SS Eduardo Garcia. This had me all sorts of ? today! ?

I think in the early going of this year's DSL, I'm naming Mogollon the best value signing of the entire group. $10,000 of bonus pool money are definitely worth his incredible 15 innings to date. Here's hoping he keeps lighting it up, keeps developing, and gets more life changing money to help himself and his entire family. Blessed be the athletes who achieve success!

Biggest competitor is probably Juan Baez, with La Torre and Tejada probably having too few at bats. Yorman Galindez and the slightly higher dollar Wande Torres ($38,700) have posted some eye-popping strikeout totals as well.

I have to say, I absolutely love having a Report day when I can just deep dive and interweb search all these fascinating young prospects in the ACL and DSL. I'm loving this. I go on these massive detours and realize I haven't even finished my second DSL write-up. ? ACL tilts start in an hour. I better get this done before my wife scolds me.

For the greater organizational record keepers at home:

We are now up 4-0 on the Cubs organization in the past 48 hours. Let's hope the Big Club can make it 5-0! The ACL Brewers Blue, in other news, will get a real test tonight as they face the ACL Reds who sport an impressive 15-6 record.

Not sure if it’s already been noted somewhere, but just saw that the two Brewers ACL teams are the youngest in the league with an average age of 18.8 each for the hitters (next youngest are Reds/Guardians at 19.1) and 19.5/19.7 for the pitchers (next youngest are Angels at 20.0).

The ACL Brewers Gold got the ol' 5-run walk off. Singles, walks, n balks, oh my! An improbable comeback as they had spotted the Athletics a four run lead in the top of the seventh on the heels of back-to-back homers. It looks as though the Crew affiliates are headed for a healthy 3-1 day. All ACL/DSL teams are off tomorrow. Those ACL Reds sure seem formidable!

Between this and the fact that they are one of only three franchises with two ACL teams, records are kind of misleading for this bunch. While the catchers haven't been hitting much, it wouldn't be difficult to construct an absurdly productive lineup at the rest of the spots from between the two teams.
