DSL-1 held on to win that rain-resumed game 16-12 over the Tigers. They led 6-0, trailed 12-6 and ultimate won 16-12 on the strength of a punt return, um…well it was really the pitching of 18-year old RHP Jhofez Mejias (4 2/3 shutout innings, 1 hit, no walks, 5 Ks).

18-year old LHP Anfernny Reyes (3 1/3 shutout innings, 8 Ks) is dominant as usual for DSL-2, but was actually out-pitched (checks more closely)…by a 22-year old for the Rangers. SS Juan Baez is back atop the lineup as usual, after exiting yesterday’s game early.

16-year old starting RHP Manuel Rodriguez is having his first difficult game in a while for DSL-1.

Both trail today’s games 4-0 but are still in action.

What do you do when your 18-year olds get promoted (Jackson Chourio) or injured (Hendry Mendez)? Well, you promote two more 18-years to the squad and place them atop the order!

Carolina welcomes 2B Jadher Areinamo and LF Luis Castillo from Arizona rookie ball as they host White Sox Low-A affiliate Kannapolis this week. RHP Jeferson Figueroa (6.27 season ERA) gets the first crack at the opposition, while Jeferson Quero misses his 6th straight game:

We have a Hiura HR, we have. Feliciano HR (yes sir!), and we now have a Weston Wilson ding dong. It's now 6-1 Sounds here in the top of the fourth inning. Joey Wiemer is 0-for-2 with a K and Garrett Mitchell is 0-for-2. Sal Frelick, batting lead off, is picking up right where he left off in Biloxi: 2-for-3 and his out was a well hit line out to right field. You love to see it.

I wish Frelick would get some play in CF, since he's our best bet for improving the roster next season, but with Mitchell and Ruiz, He'll never get to play there.

If Frelick keeps punishing the ball like he has been, he might be playing center in Milwaukee pretty soon.  How much more seasoning does he really need in the minors?

One of the testaments to Frelick is he can really play anywhere in the outfield. He's a very good CF because he has that speed. His range will play anywhere and his arm is solid enough to play anywhere. He was playing more CF than corner outfield spots in Biloxi. I wouldn't read too much into it at this juncture. If he keeps getting on base at this clip, he'll be in that Milwaukee OF rotation sooner than we know it.

Zavier Warren with two triples (?!?) this evening helping the T-Rats take a 5-0 lead in Quad Cities. Those are his first two 3-baggers on the season. Joe Gray Jr. also nabbed a triple batting lead-off. Ethan Murray is giving us some production from the SS position with a 2-for-3 night as well and his 16th double. RHP Justin Bullock with his finest pitching performance and outcome in some time as he has held Quad Cities to a walk and a hit with 4 K's through five complete innings.

We’ve got Brewers’ system debuts for ACL Gold’s SS Eric Brown Jr. (pop out), C Satchell Norman (ground out), RF/1B Reece Walling (walk) and ACL Blue’s SS Robert Moore (ground out), 3B Ben Metzinger (triple), C Matthew Wood (fly out) and 1B/C Tayden Hall (double).

Satchell Norman (15th Rd pick in the 2022 draft out of Florida Southwestern State JC) starts his Brewers ACL career 2-for-3 with a run. Good stuff!

Another evening and just another Jace Avina ding dong. 10th of the year. NO K's on the evening. 2-for-3.

If only there was a Low-A squad which could use the offensive jolt which Jace Avina can provide, right?

Lots of time-sharing going on at the ACL clubs, as the new draftees/signees split duties with teammates.

However, the exit of OF Luis Medina after just 2 innings was not likely pre-planned. So now we’re watching the status of Medina, as well as Daniel Guilarte (exited early yesterday).

Since I've kind of become the leader of his hype train on here, nice low-A debut for Areinamo. Like I've said before, I have no idea about his upside, whether some of those doubles can get turned into homers, his range and arm on defense, but I like that looking at his stats, there is nothing that you look at and say, "Well, he has to fix that." He takes walks, doesn't strike out much, has at least frequent doubles pop and hasn't made many errors on defense, at least by rookie ball standards.
