Fantasy Football 2022

Figured we should start a thread to post FF advice. I know its boring to just post your roster, but I thought it might be fun to post your favorite pick / pick you regret and the pick #.

I drafted yesterday so I’ll start.

Pick I regret Antonio Gibson, (7th, 63rd overall). I did little research prior and knew that Robinson was out for the first 4 games. I also knew he was pretty good at the end of last season, but from what I read after I made the pick that his value could be a low-end flex once McKissic and Robinson are at full strength.

Favorite Pick. DK Metcalf, (6th, 58th overall). I know his value falls with Smith as his QB, but someone needs to get the ball and he has the size to go up and get it. In past years he was long gone before the 6th rd, so I am happy with this one.

I started going away from early round RBs a few years back and it worked great for me. Rest of the league is starting to catch on though so the board just didn't go my way. Had to pivot and go RB heavy but found really good value getting Etienne with pick #39 and Dillon at #87.  I regret going with Kyle PItts at pick #34 - I think Irv Smith, Albert O are really good late round TE picks. I should have gone with Waddle or AJ Brown there and solidified my WR corps.

I had the 3rd pick and decided to go with Ekeler over Jefferson / Kupp but that was a tough call. I got Chubb in the 2nd, which I was happy about. I do agree though that its not that essential to draft RB’S in the first 2 rounds.

10-team league

CMC with the second overall pick -- no brainer (JT was first).  Doubled up on Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown.  I have Russell Wilson on the bench and Courtland Sutton for another double up.

Stretch picks at the end of the draft were Olave and Valdes-Scantling.  Hopefully that works out.  I got a C for my draft.  Oh well.

Me and my buddies are doing a guillotine league this year.  First time we have tried it.  Did our 18 person draft last night and am pretty excited to get away from 'traditional' fantasy football leagues.

I just finished my first drafts of Underdogs Best Ball III tourney. I really enjoy the entire interface and philosophy behind Best Ball. It will be interesting to track my teams this season - admittedly, I learned while drafting the implications of multiple Bye Weeks (gulp) and failed to stack all that well. A good learning year. I'll definitely be doing this more moving forward.

In my former work League (which I still participate in with friends - we all left the company. LOL), we started a QB super flex option and Keepers this season. It should be quite fun. Looking forward to it.

I kind of regret not doing best ball this year as it's something I've looked at for a few seasons. I doubt I can get a team drafted before tomorrow night.

already drama on my team and play hasn't started yet. Kittle is questionable and I don't have a strong TE to back him up. I did draft Taysom HIll in the last round as a wildcard, but he isn't a week 1 play.  Hill may have to be dropped to pick up an Okwuegbunam or Hooper.

Do you play in a league that runs free agency right up until gametime? You could stash Kittle in an IR spot once he's ruled out, and grab a quick replacement before kickoff.

Free agency is right up until noon. The issue is that the player has to be on the IR, not just rules out I think

May want to check your league settings. Most Yahoo leagues let you put a guy in an IR spot once he's ruled out.

I do have yahoo, thanks. I don't mess with the IR that much, probably could have saved a lot of drops over the years.

This is what I frequently do in my Yahoo league. I believe it also works when they are suspended.

Irv Smith, Albert O, David Njoku are all good pickups in week 1

Looks like my most regretted pick is going to be cam Akers.  Auction draft at least and he was cheap.

Remember what Yoda said:

I started him in one of my leagues this week as well. Tough break. No one saw it coming, either, as he's been hyped at their lead back for months. At least Allen is my QB in the league I started Akers in, so not all is lost yet.

anyone have thoughts on Henderson long term. He is currently on my WW. I don't think the Rams have much interest in running the ball. Even though he was the lead back, he still only got 13 carries for 47 yds. He also got some receptions.

Akers is a substantially more talented back on paper. Henderson is really just a guy. But none of that may matter, as the Rams offensive line looked terrible last night.

I think I read somewhere that no RB has ever come back from an Achilles tear and been a lead dog. James Robinson is the next test case.

Might as well as this here, since so many users on Discord servers get preferential treatment if they are "elite" members or some other super-ultra paid subscriber rather than those of us who just pay for the premier subscription ?

Good morning! 14-team PPR league. I'm already going with Javante Williams, Saquon Barkley, and Aaron Jones at my 2 RB and 1 FLEX spot. Which leaves me with 2 WR/TE slots. Cee Dee Lamb is a no-brainer, but I'm unsure about my last choice between: Elijah Moore, DeVonta Smith, Kyle Pitts, and George Pickens. I keep talking myself into and out of all four of these guys. I appreciate any suggestions you may offer. Thank you!

Yeah, Hill isn't roster-worthy anyway IMO. If you want a wild card at TE I'd definitely take a shot on Albert O who would be a fine play this weekend especially with Dulcich sidelined for awhile.

I agree.  Albert O is a great choice.  Kittle isn't going to play.

I have Kittle in dynasty on Sleeper and he's been such a frustrating player to own. So good when he plays but hurt quite often.

Fortunately I was able to acquire Dalton Schlutz in the off-season to avoid having to stream at the position every time this happens.
