are you suggesting there's quid pro quo going on when CC makes out his lineup card?

I think he asks them "who is the best manager in baseball"? and they respond:

Cutch: "You are the best manager I have played for!"

Keston: "You are the best manager I have player for!"

CC: "Keston I am the only manager you have played for, you need to do better?  Cutch your DH today"

Re. Hiura, a lot of you were saying, "Play him while he's hot despite the high K rate." Well, he's now ice-cold, so why the fuss when McCutchen has at least been league average lately.??

Hiura hasn't had the opportunity "lately" so how do you know he is ice cold?  His last 6 at bats?  C'mon man, you are better than this.

Cleveland will never receive any sympathy from me since the allowed the Cubs to win a World Series.

So how does that work as a Brewers fan with their history (letting the Cardinals beat them in the 1982 World series then losing in the 2011 NLCS to the eventual WS winning Cardinals?)

These Hiura vs McCutchen arguments every in-game thread are getting a little old. I think you all have made your point(s).

points were made?

so wait. do stats matter to you or not? You discount that he's done better in a "significantly smaller sample size,"  than the full-time players, and you keep harping that he's gone cold over his last 36 ABs, which is a minuscule sample size.
Get real.

I'm emphasizing the September numbers only in the sense that we're in the very late stages of a pennant race and Counsell has no choice but to play the "hotter" hand. Hiura has demonstrated no ability to make contact over the last month, so that's why we are where we are. In terms of the larger picture, Hiura has produced a negative WAR since 2020, and though his surface numbers are solid this year, his underlying numbers such as his astronomical 42% K rate raise all kinds of alarm bells. I've always liked his raw hitting "tools", but the hole in his bat has become so large that it's hard for me to see him having sustained success going forward. Hopefully that's "real" enough for you...

They were attempted; I really don't want to wade through more posts about which points were and weren't made, but if that's what needs to happen..

I 100% agree, every time I plan to be done, I get drug back in.

Thank you for pointing that out, I will take your advice and be done with the subject.

your statement flies in the face of probability and logic. I suggest you explore why that is.

How so? Because I have yet to find a hitter in the history of this game that has maintained a K rate as high as Hiura's over the past couple years and has been able to achieve sustained success.

I really wish we didn't have to discuss Hiura at all. That's why I agree with the Hiura stans who keep banging their drums and hope that he's traded this offseason.

Okay. I've learned my lesson, and am done now. Don't ever discuss Hiura with some people on this site as it seems to massively trigger them.

You don't discuss, you never discuss.  You dictate your opinions, there is never discussion with your commenting.
