You're going to be very disappointed in about 4 seconds when your feed catches up.

I realize that but it was still a great play.

Why are we so upset about the call? It's not like it was some egregious phantom call. Sucks, but it is what it is.

At least they made a great play on the next 3rd down and ended up holding them to nothing.

The call bothered me because anecdotally I don't feel like illegal touching is called very often. That said it doesn't overly bother me it was called because it was clearly a correct call.

Because they could call that on any play.

it's wild that Rodgers and lafleur haven't figured out yet that the deep ball isn't (or at least shouldn't be ) part of the offensive repertoire with this receiving corps.

As have been said by the talking heads this week, the two of them are running this offense like Adams is still on the team.

I bet Gute is kicking himself for not just taking a return for Rodgers when he had the chance and ushering in the next era.

Yeah they had a real chance to get big time value for Rodgers and rebuild this team into a legitimate contender.  Now you end up with Love starting next year anyway and no extra draft picks to work with.

You keep saying this but it really doesn't make a lot of sense. He was coming off back to back MVPs and most prognosticators had this team as a big dog again in the conference.

This is also where I do the obligatory reminder that it is October and while the Packers look pretty meh, they are right in the thick of a playoff spot. The NFL can be very developmental even in the middle of a season.

The smart money is that the Packers are a wild card team or bubble miss, but the NFC is really not very good. It's completely plausible for them to get things going in the next 2 months.

But I don't think a potential 4-3 record is "boy I should have traded Aaron" territory.

So is the offense trash because they have a dearth of WR talent or does it go deeper than that?

I have felt for the most part that the lack of WR talent is too easy to point to and there must be other factors. The O-line play has been less than great but is that because defenses just don't fear the passing game? I'm starting to come around to the WR situation is the big problem. If so that's on the front office big time, brining Rodgers back on a $50M contract and give him nowhere to throw.

Not a mind-blowing statement but I've really been hesitant to pin everything on the WR group.

There's no way this is solely the WR group. They looked very good last year without Adams. It's definitely some youth at WR but imo the offensive line is just badly disjointed. They need to figure that out to get this thing fixed. It all starts there.

It's all sorts of things.  Wrs are young/hurt/not good, the oline hasn't played well, Rodgers seems to have dropped his play some, and the play calling has been head scratching.  Most of these can be fixed/improved, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel the same way about Rodgers now as I did after 2019 and that has me worried.

Remember what Yoda said:
