What are people's thoughts on our ability to do damage if we actually make the playoffs? The NFC is wide open this year, moreso than most imo, but I don't know if this team has the talent and bodies (no Gary really hurts) to pull off a 2010/2016 style run...

Our first opponent is most likely to be the Niners, who will most likely pound us into the center of the earth.

True, though I can also imagine this being the year we finally beat them with a third string QB making his first playoff start.

But their run game against our run defense? Yikes.

Yeah, if the Packers have any hope of winning, they need to make Purdy look like the Mr. Irrelevant he is, and even then it might not matter considering our run defense history against them. Purdy might throw less passes than Jimmy G did.

Also, if we did manage to avoid the Niners in the first round that just means they clinched the one seed and we would play them in the divisional round anyway. There's no way to avoid them this year, except by losing tonight.

I am holding my nose and pulling for the Seahawks but they stink. Geno Smith made the Pro Bowl? I haven't noticed him throw one pass downfield yet and it seems like he has 2 good receivers. 3 false starts already and it is week 18.

What happens if SEA, GB and DET all finish 8-8-1??

According to what I just saw on the Seahawks game, Detroit gets in. Fox said Seattle is eliminated with a tie and Washington win, which is going to happen.

So what's the over under on trick plays Detroit will run? And how many will succeed?

Put me down for three Detroit trick plays. And the first two work.  But not the last one.

Nice start defense.

The thing that has me most confident is that Goff is not a cold weather quarterback as shown by that third down throw.
