4o straight years

I work hard almost every day of the year

I’ve worked on Christmas Day, my Anniversary, & each member of my family’s birthdays

In 40 years since graduating college, I don’t ever recall working on MLB #OpeningDay

In addition to the Brewers & Cubbies, I plan to watch bits & pieces of all 15 games

Today is my favorite day of the year

For the last 20 years, my Opening Day tradition has been to watch Major League the night before the opener. Last night was extra special because by baseball-loving 14-year-old son and softball-obsessed 12-year-old daughter joined me. It's a little bit of a bummer that the opener this season is a day game while they are in school, but I'll certainly be watching ... provided the Bally's app is functional (big if).

This is my first year for an opening day after retiring from teaching in June.  I no longer have to check my phone and computer for scores, I get to watch it in person!

It seems to me like there have been a lot of day games for Brewers opening day, or am I just imagining that?  It always felt like I was working during the game.

That's a great tradition!

I have watched FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH every year since I can remember on the weekend before the school year starts, and DAZED AND CONFUSED the weekend school gets out for the summer...  I watched FAST TIMES this year the weekend before school started even though I was no longer going to be going to school...  lol

For many years … as soon as the schedule was posted … I blocked Opening Day on my calendar & submitted a request for taking the day OFF.

For the past six years, I’ve owned my own business so I gave myself permission to enjoy this holiday!

I will be back for Opening Day next year - but today was awful … I hope we turn things around on Saturday

Funny, the bullpen that was considered to be questionable, was lights out today while the starting pitching & defense - our supposed strength - both looked mediocre today

Funny, my wife and I both teach (two and four years to retiring from teaching!) and every year we go on an internet blackout on Opening Day until we get home and then watch the recorded pregame and game on the tv (from Arizona, mind you.). I can’t stand to know what’s going on on Opening Day lol!

I watched pretty much every opening day with my father since I was about 10? I always took work off and we always made it work despite my weird hour work schedule. He passed away 2 years ago and last year was my first without him. I woke up to a text from my boss saying “you’re going into work late today, where are we watching the game at?”.  So we continued to tradition today as well. 0-2. Oh well. 161 to go!

I don't miss much about living in Los Angeles but one of the things I truly miss is Opening Day starting at 10am and ending at 10pm. Living on the west coast is often a pain if you follow teams that play a couple of time zones east but on Opening Day, it was magical.
