1B Ernesto Martinez rips his second long ball of the season - a two run shot - and OF Je'Von Ward ripped a two-run double. It's 5-0 T-Rats early and they are still at the dish in the bottom of the 3rd frame. RHP Tyler Woessner has looked quite sharp.

Nothing like a missed strike call on one screen (a gorgeous high corner curve from Jarvis) followed by a blown out call at 3B on a gorgeous OF assist from Micah Bello in RF. He threw an absolute one bounce laser that beat the runner by a good 2-3'. Garcia held on brilliantly. Nah. Not today. Woooof.

He took a K looking on a nice heater on the outer stripe in his second AB. This is the Level he needs to work on next. He looks great in the field. His comfort and flow and consistency will come. Nothing has changed by my eyes. If anything, he looks like he added some muscle in the off-season - which is a good thing.

I also feel like he looks bigger. Which is interesting because I didn’t notice it in ST but his shoulders seem bigger watching today

RHP Justin Jarvis lost his perfect game and no-hit bid here in the fifth on a walk and a seeing eye single to RF. With one down and runners on the corners, he says: "None shall pass!" Proceeds to rip off his 6th and 7th K of the evening. What a debut!

Yeah, it's pretty noticeable actually which is awesome. He looks to have put on 5-10 lbs. of muscle in the off-season. This is a pleasant surprise.

RHP Caleb Boushley made it a ripe 1/3 inning tonight. And, after 31 pitches, 4 ER on 5 hits (1 HR - a 3-run jack with 2 down) , they pulled him. Not the home start Boushley or the Sounds were looking for as they continue their up-and-down early 2023.

Chourio is at the dish with Collins at 1B versus a Lefty. Quickly 0-2, he takes a heater inside and begins protecting the plate. and well boys he absolutely HAMMERED a laser shot over the wall in RF. Wooooooo Hooooooo! SLUMP NO MORE.😅

What a beautiful recovery after he was clearly frustrated with the 2nd strike call (it was a strike - high but a strike). Fought off an outside heater with his speed of sound fast wrists and then just ripped an absolute line drive cannon over the wall in RF. Glorious.

His power to RF is so rare for someone his age. Let alone to do it at the AA level. Special talent.

Yeah, that was ridiculous. Especially a swing after he fought off that high outside heater. Same swing. Better result. He's just so special.

SMALL SAMPLE ALERT but I hope starting Chourio in AA wasn’t being too aggressive. Had a couple of hits his first game but the strikeouts have been piling up since. I was concerned starting him in AA as a newly turned 19-year old was a bit aggressive and was wondering if he should have started the first month or so in Appleton. Hope I’m way wrong!

Reverse jinx!! :)

C Darrien Miller just failed to corral a high heater with men on the corners and the ball gets away from him. He makes matters worse by firing a barehanded scoop into the LF grass in an errant throw both allowing the 2nd run to cross and then allowing the runner to third. On my other screen, INF Zavier Warren grabs an E3 after failing to corral a very easy pop-up in the grass beyond the Shuckers dugout - only the third error on the Shuckers young season. He probably just wants to give Jarvis another K - charitable!

My word, on the ensuing pitch from Woessner, Martinez absolutely botches a routine grounder to first base allowing the third run across. I need some Pepto Bismol this is getting ridiculous.

Ernesto Martinez blew a routine GB right after Miller’s error giving Woessner 2 unearned runs that inning.

Yup. I saw it. Poor Woessner. That was truly not fair.

The pitch before? Same location (maybe slightly further outside). He protected himself and ripped a foul behind and to his right. Not so lucky trying to repeat that same effort.

Russell Smith on the mound for the Rattlers and maybe it is just me,  but he looks to be in much better shape than I remember him.

Whoa. RHP Ryan Middendorf (on in relief of Justin Jarvis in the top of the 7th) just gave up his first run in some time. A HR over the wall in RF on a 1-0 count.

I'm still in the top of the 5th - I paused action to look around the other contests and review some work (check out Aidan Maldonado's outing  for Carolina - really fine work). I'll report back when I see him.

RHP Abner Uribe apparently was touching 102 mph on Friday in Jackson, Mississippi. I sincerely hope I can see him pitch tonight. Yowza.

Rough inning for Middendorf. Giving up a lot of good contact. Quero blew a strike 3 call in the dirt (couldn’t locate the ball) which didn’t help.

Jeferson Quero lost the ball on a swinging third strike here in the bottom of the 7th. He thought he had it blocked but it was stuck under him and he ran past it. The runner safe at first, he attempted to grab the runner headed to 3B and he missed him by a hair allowing his first stolen base of the year (albeit, under inauspicious circumstances). This ended up being a big drop as Griffin Conine followed with a triple to RF and both runners crossing the dish. This is the hardest I've seen Ryan Middendorf get hit in quite some time. Perhaps, since he's been in the Brewers organization. These aren't cheap XBH's. They'll leave him in to try to calm things down. One down and Conine on third. They'll hope to get to Yeager in the 8th frame.

Yup. The roughest I've literally ever seen Middendorf hit since joining the Brewers. That dropped strike proved very costly. A game of inches.
