The High-A Timber Rattlers are down 3-0 in their home series against Beloit, but have 23-year old RHP Tyler Woessner (1.69 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 10.1 K/9 in 16 IP) going for his 4th win in 4 starts.

AAA Nashville has two rehabbing Major Leaguers in the lineup at home against Omaha, as it seeks a 3-1 series lead. RHP Adrian Houser makes his 3rd (and final?) rehab start, after going 4 2/3 innings scoreless last time out (6 hits, 2 Ks). 2B Abraham Toro has a 12-game hitting streak.

They have spelled Garcia wrong the last two nights now.  lol

Anyone know anything about Eric Brown Jr?  He hasn't played since getting hit it the face Wednesday, even though the reports were good, no fractures, no concussion...

Yeah I tweeted them about spelling Garcia wrong today.

The AA Shuckers need a win to tie their series 2-2 with Mississippi. Solid RHP Justin Jarvis (1.59 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 12.2 K/9 in 17 IP) gets his 4th start of 2023. 1B Noah Campbell has an 8-game on-base streak.

Low-A Carolina can take a 3-1 series lead over Kannapolis with a win behind starting RHP Patricio Aquino (2.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 8.7 K/9 in 11.1 K/9) tonight. DH Luke Adams (1.079 OPS in 56 PAs) has the 6th-highest OPS in the 12-team Carolina League.

Biloxi is our main bright spot thus far, taking advantage of 3 Braves' errors to grab 3 unearned runs. Justin Jarvis was solid again, allowing 1 run on 6 hits (2 infield) while striking out 6 and walking none in 6 innings. Freddy Zamora with his 3rd homer of the year. 3 stolen bases for the good guys, while Jeferson Quero gunned down the only attempted basestealer for Mississippi.

5-1 Shuckers in the bottom of the 7th inning.

In Nashville, Adrian Houser only conceded 3 singles (1 bunt) and 2 walks over 5 innings, but 3 runs scored, largely due to effective small ball (stolen bases, advancing on ground outs). The thought is that this will be Houser's last rehab outing, but 40 strikes in 80 pitches may make the Brewers think twice. He'll need some days of rest anyway. Let's see if Colin Rea has an effective start for the Brewers on Sunday.

Oh, offensively we've been bad, doing basically nothing after Eddy Alvarez's leadoff double. Our next hit didn't come until the 7th inning (Abraham Toro, extending streak), giving us 1st and 3rd with 1 out, down 3-0. Tyler Naquin then grounded into his second double play.

Still down 3-0, now in the top of the 8th inning. LHP Thomas Pannone is doing his best to give the offense a legitimate chance to get back in it.

In Appleton, Tyler Woessner had one uncharacteristically rough inning (3 runs on 2 doubles and 2 singles in the 3rd inning) in a relatively difficult start. However, despite giving up 8 hits and only striking out 1 batter over 6 innings, he battled through and kept it a 3-0 game.

But we only have 2 hits, both singles. It's now the top of the 9th inning, Wisconsin facing a 5th straight loss, down 3-0.

Here's a good lesson in how NOT to run the bases when your team's got a decent rally going in the top of the 8th inning. Go Shuckers!

The Sounds are showing signs of life in the bottom of the 8th inning. A walk, infield hit and RBI single (Eddy Alvarez) cut it to 3-1 with 2 men on and 1 out.

But Tyrone Taylor K's as part of an 0-for-4, 2-strikeout day.

Then Keston Hiura comes through with a 2-run single to tie it up!! It's 3-3 as they head to the 9th inning. Go Sounds!!

Freddy Zamora has deposited his second souvenir for the kids tonight, this one an opposite field 2-run blast. That made it 7-2 and then Jeferson Quero added a solo shot of his own. Suddenly it's 8-2 as they go to the 9th inning.

Thomas Pannone has exited after 39 pitches, covering 3 scoreless innings while striking out 4 Storm Chasers. It's time for MLB 40-man roster RHP JB Bukauskas to make his organizational debut in the top of the 9th inning in the 3-3 game in Nashville.

Here's the Keston Hiura game-tying 2-run single in the bottom of the 8th inning:

Singles from Skye Bolt and Abraham Toro have given the Sounds a chance to walk this one off. 2-on, nobody out, bottom of the 9th inning, tied 3-3.

Can Tyler Naquin come through?

No, instead Tyler Naquin hit into another gut-wrenching GIDP, his 3rd of the night. Gulp.

But hey, a throwing error on Brian Navaretto's grounder to 3rd base on the next play makes Nashville a walk-off winner anyway!! Skye Bolt scores! Sounds win 4-3!

I absolutely love the SS Freddy Zamora bounce back feel good season going on in Biloxi. So wonderful to see him healthy and producing. Huge development in 2023.

Robert Moore and Eduardo Garcia (who appears to be declaring that plate discipline of a week or so back was an apparition) with 3 K's apiece. Man, Moore has fallen off a cliff. Hope he can get back swinging confidently and with purpose in the near future.

Curious fans are asking: Will the Timber Rattlers win again? Stay tuned. Rough rough sledding right now.

I am with jyou that the vibes just feel very off for that team right now. Super low energy. They really need a big breakout game with the bats to get going.

RIght? Contrary to what manager Joe Ayrault is saying in the post-game interviews the heads hanging and the energy on the field is not what we want to see. Too many dejected looks. Lethargic trots off the diamond into the dugout. The only fire I've seen from that club of late is from the pitching staff - who have been fantastic, btw. The collective field players, tho, are in a proverbial funk.
