That speaks more volume about how bad our offense is past a few guys.

His OPS is nowhere near .700, his OBP is barely getting over .300, and his average is like .225. Add in a guy who isn’t very good defensively anymore…he hasn’t even been a starting quality player this year despite getting paid to be elite.

We're 18-10 with a lot of injuries.

I feel like this ump has had a pretty good zone today but seemingly every single missed call has gone against us

Elite defense, okay…he can bat anywhere in the order to provide that.

I don’t care where he is in his MLB career. He has been pretty freakin’ bad on offense, especially lately. Not sure he is a shining example of someone to try and get a spark from. I wasn’t trying to predict his future.

You said he’s blessed to even be on the major league roster…

I don’t think too many of us think he should be batting leadoff. It’s just one poster to my knowledge.

Well yah…any guy rocking a sub .700 OPS should probably be happy every opportunity they get to still be on the roster, especially in a starting capacity. Reality is we banked on him so there really isn’t a great option to turn to. Iris’s being injured doesn’t exactly help matters.

Brewers offense fails again against a truly terrible team.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Mediocre defensive team played great defense tonight………

Need to hit them where they ain’t like the Rockies did.

Who is the Brewers best every day player? The fact that this is probably up for debate especially with Willie being this current version is trouble. Everyone else in the division can identify somebody pretty quickly. Find a bat Mr. Arnold.

The 3 rookie OFs were supposed to take some of the offensive woes/concerns. Getting stuck with the lowest preseason expected help and the other 2 going down days apart just ruined that flexibility to shuttle a hott bat vs cold bat up n down.  Losing Urias game 1 also major loss. As typical Winker bounce back season isn't happening that's 4 players you hoped to rely on. Taylor game 1 makes it 5.

Adames is not any better aside from BB rate than last season, but also not any worse. So he's doing his part.

Turang after a 3 game break due to platoon Counsell had 2 hits but of course had the game ending SO.

Yeli continues breaking hearts on returning to form with crap PAs and the 2 or 3 hit balls that week you think something may click.

We're in this 40man dilemma with the long term injuries to Urias&Mitchell where both will return later in the season. Add Woodruff/Ashby/Alexander/Wilson long injuries but potentially coming back. Added to their bullpen shuttling with majority of them not solidified. They're in this crunch managing current, future, and what to do with more injuries with depth.

Who do you go get?  Backup 1st base? Tellez has been the best bat thus far. Contreras at C a great 2nd.  2b jettison Turang in a trade, your true SS future&backup?  I guess the answer is trading Adames for a better hitting 2b? Remove Anderson from 3b+flex from 40man for a better 3b bat we haven't had since....Aramis? Good luck.

It remains the team doesn't possess a batter who a pitcher would rather walk vs facing. Chourio sounds like that future and we're  playing the waiting game til he's ready.

Btw Wiemer hasn't crushed it offensively yet he's had 10BBs to 21Ks now nearing 100 PAs his rookie come up.  Hopefully he progresses where his Balls in play go for Xtra base hits and more often in the OF.

Voit is a problem providing 0HRs. But again he's Tellez backup not a near every game starter. You can't improve the lineup daily from him without also moving Tellez.
